Noel's puppetry career started on The Great Space Coaster, inheriting the role of Knock Knock. Since 1982, he has worked on Sesame Street as a puppeteer and now as a director. He is best known for puppeteering the title character Bear on Bear in the Big Blue House, as well as occasionally writing and directing for the show. Some of his other puppetry roles include performing Magellan on Eureeka's Castle, Leon on The Puzzle Place, Rabbit on The Book of Pooh, Kako on Oobi and Lionel Lion in the final two seasons of Between the Lions. Noel also wrote episodes for other children's series including The Magic School Bus, Gullah Gullah Island and Cyberchase!
