The poll in focus:

NEW YEAR Poll report (NOIPolls, Jan 2022).

The findings from the poll revealed that:

The top three key areas Nigerians want the government to focus its attention on in 2022 are security (50 percent), reduction in prices of goods and services (44 percent), Economy, and job creation both tied at (42 percent).

This edition focuses on a new public opinion poll conducted to gauge the perceptions of Nigerians regarding the year 2021. The poll revealed that the majority of adult Nigerians (71 percent) are not satisfied with the year 2021 in all ramifications mainly due to the worsened security situation and economic hardship in the country.

Furthermore, the poll assessed the opinion of Nigerians on how well the country has fared in certain key sectors and the poll result revealed that the areas of Economy, Security, Electricity supply, Agriculture, Education, and Health were rated poorly as Nigerians reported that the country did not fare well at all in these areas. Specifically, 82 percent stated the Economy did not fare well while 79 percent of respondents stated that the country did not fare well in security.

57 percent of Nigerians who do not have health insurance cover are willing to pay money monthly or yearly to allow them access to care when ill.

Nigerians show high tolerance for diversity but low trust in fellow citizens, Afrobarometer study shows

A majority of Nigerians value diverse communities, identify equally with their ethnicity and

nationality, and believe there is more that unites Nigerians as one people than divides them,

new Afrobarometer findings show.

Over the years, Nigeria has witnessed repeated ethnic and religious clashes. But the survey

shows that nine in 10 citizens are tolerant of people from different religions, ethnic groups,

nationalities, and political parties.

However, general trust in fellow citizens is very low; most Nigerians say one “must be very

careful” in dealing with others.

This edition focused on the forthcomming Anambra state gubernatorial elections.

Ahead of the Anambra State Gubernatorial elections slated for November 6th, 2021, NOIPolls conducted a public opinion poll to assess the preparedness of voters towards the election. The poll has favored Professor Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in an early 11-point substantial lead over Valentine Ozigbo, candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

The poll was conducted between 7th and 12th October 2021, and it sought to assess the preparedness of voters towards the Governorship election in Anambra state and their most preferred candidate. From the results of 500 randomly selected legible voters across all the LGA in Anambra state and interviewed via telephone: Professor Chukwuma Soludo polled 20 percent; Valentine Ozigbo polled 9 percent; Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah of YPP (7 percent); and Andy Nnamdi Uba of APC (6 percent) amongst other candidates.
