As we enter the third chapter of Paul's Second Letter to the Thessalonian church, we come to Paul's request for prayer. He requests prayer that the Gospel might move speedily and be received in honor. He also asks that they pray for the Apostolic team to be delivered from the enemies of the Gospel that the word would not be hindered. These are prayers that we should be joining in so that the Word would move speedily in our own day and that faithful evangelists would be delivered from those who seek to hinder the Gospel work-

This message marks a short break from our normal sermon series as we look at Titus 2-11-15. There, we will find an amazing summary of the Gospel as Paul instructs Titus on the subject of God's grace. Paul explains that, while God's grace is redemptive, it is also instructive, calling upon all believers to live new lives in Christ unto the glory of God-

Today, we continue our journey through Paul's First Epistle to the Thessalonian church by looking at chapter 4, verses 9-12. In these verses, we will see the call and command to live as Christians with love toward our brothers and sisters in the faith.

In this sermon, we continue our journey through 1 Thessalonians, focusing on 2-17-20. In this passage, we see Paul's pastoral concern for the Thessalonians as he longs to visit them. In writing this letter, Paul wants them to know that it was not his intention to leave or to remain absent, but there had been Satanic hindrance that has inhibited a return. Finally, Paul desires to visit the believers as he hopes to present this church to Christ at His return.

Today's Sermon covers the third chapter of I Thessalonians as we see the mission on which Timothy was sent. The details in Paul's wording tell us of Paul's concern for both Timothy and the Thessalonian church. Ultimately, Paul desires to know that the Thessalonians are living out a genuine faith in Christ and, therefore, can be presented to Christ at His appearance.

As we conclude II Thessalonians chapter 2, we arrive at a wonderful and glorious benediction. Paul knows the needs of his Thessalonian brothers and sisters, thus he offers a benediction-prayer for them. He prays that the God who loves them, consoles them, and offers them hope would comfort them in their hearts. Further, it is Paul's prayer that God will establish them in every good word and deed. While this benediction is specifically for these Thessalonian believers, it is fair to say that this is also God's will for all His people.

Having been shown the woes of judgment that await the proud, Habakkuk comes to understand the message that God is giving Him. Judgment must fall on Judah for its wickedness- likewise, it must fall upon all forces that are at emnity with God. This does not mean, however, that chaos and evil reign, but that God is moving forward in faithfulness to His plan and promise of salvation for His people. In response to this revelation, Habakkuk writes a Psalm about the mighty power of God-

On this Memorial Day, we are looking to the theme of memorials in the Scriptures- such memorials point to the glory, faithfulness, power, and grace of our awesome God.

As we continue our journey through II Thessalonians, we come to 2-13-15. Herein, Paul offers Thanksgiving to God for the Thessalonians. God, in His amazing love and grace, has chosen and called these believers. This truth offers Paul confidence that the Thessalonians can stand fast in the day of spiritual battle. Why- Because they belong to a God Who not only called them, but equips them. The people of God should hear this truth- those called are the beloved of God...in confidence, stand fast-
