  • Hope in the Wait
Waiting on something can be very difficult. Sometimes, it becomes all we focus on. It then consumes us. The longer we wait, the more impatient we become. We start to develop a certain mindset that restricts us. We begin to lose hope and want to give up completely. In this sermon, we learn how Joseph didn’t give up while waiting on the Lord. He never lost hope. Can we put our trust in God and find hope in the wait just like Joseph did? Speaker: Pastor Dave D’Angelo

  • Why is God Absent?
Life is messy and complicated. At times it can seem like everything is against you. The devastating effects are all around you. You see it everywhere. When you look at your circumstances, sometimes you can’t see God. Because you can’t see Him working, you assume He is absent. Everyone talks about God working everything together for good, but is that true? And, what does that even mean? The story of Joseph demonstrates for you that that is indeed true, but how can you see it in your life? Speaker: Pastor Paul Hunter

  • When Will It Be OK Again?
Have you ever discovered something in your home that after years of “quick fixes” or duct tape and super glue, finally breaks for good? A problem like this doesn’t start in that moment, it was just the breaking point after years of neglect. All in an instant, it came crashing down. It’s one thing when it happens to our house, but what if the stakes are higher? What happens that day that everything hits the fan and exposes years of hidden lies and dysfunction? What about the day where that thing you worked so hard to hide from everyone (or that someone worked so hard to hide from you) is now out in the open? What do you do? Is it possible to have hope in your rock bottom moment(s)? Can you trust God to redeem what sin has destroyed? Speaker: Amanda Beggs

  • An Unexpected Story of Hope
Our new series, based on the story of Joseph, is anchored in hope. Over the last year, you probably put your hope into things that were temporary, or fleeting. We are moving into what’s being described as a “post-Christian world.” As Jesus followers we need to understand where our hope is anchored. No matter what is going on in your life, regardless of how difficult your situation, God is there working. You cannot see the outcome from your current position, but He is working. In the story of Joseph, you have the benefit of knowing he ends up in the palace. He didn’t give up. He kept his faith in God. What about you? In this sermon we examine what all of this means; not only in your life, but living in a “post-Christian world.” Speaker: Pastor Dave D’Angelo

  • Finding Freedom
What does it mean to be free? Not the typical definition but truly free? So much of who you are comes from the pressures of the world. Society, friends, family and even the church can tell you how to be. When you try to live up to those “expectations” are you really, truly free to be who God made you to be? How you escape these pressures lies solely in your relationship with Jesus, relying on Him and Him alone to maintain your true, God-given, freedom. Speaker: Pastor Chris White

  • Are You Worthless?
Do you feel lost? Four simple words, when put together, become anything but. In the 15th chapter of Luke’s Gospel, Jesus tells us 3 parables known as the “Parables of the Lost.” Throughout these stories, four types of lost people are identified. Could you be one of them? If you honestly assess your life against Jesus’ words, you may be surprised to find yourself. Even if you do not feel lost, perhaps this message could be the nudge you need. Listen to this message and dare to not find yourself in it.

  • Inherit Eternal Life
Whether you know the biblical story or not, you probably know “The Good Samaritan”. The modern understanding of what the story means, has overshadowed its meaning in the bible. When Jesus talks about His Kingdom, he doesn’t really mean it will be in the future, which is how our culture tends to visualize it. However, He talks about it in the here and now. Jesus has some expectations of us during our time in history, but, we’re not always great at living into them. The Gospels indicate that Jesus wants us to roll our sleeves up and live actively based on His principals. That is what the parable of The Good Samaritan is all about. Speaker: Pastor John Reilly

  • His Warning is for You
We are jumping back into the Parables by taking a look at the rich man and Lazarus. So take a big breath before we…go to Hell. Because, that is where this story is taking us. Like a warning label on a child’s toy, the Parables are a warning to us from Jesus. In this case, he is boldly telling us who and who will not enter His Kingdom.
We may be good, honest, moral people who give to the church and charity. But we’re learning that Jesus isn’t impressed by this religion. In Luke 16:15, He says, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sign of God.” This is the backdrop for today’s Parable. Speaker: Amanda Beggs

  • I Identify as Self Righteous
In the parable of the pharisee and the tax collector, it’s very easy to compare ourselves with the pharisee and let ourselves off the hook. But if you take a moment to go deeper, Luke makes a point to tell us Jesus was speaking to a specific audience: “those who trusted themselves and hold others in contempt.” Contempt is the feeling that a person or a thing is beneath consideration, worthless, or deserving disregard; the act of despising. Who do you treat with contempt? Who do you secretly hope will fail? Or who do you put down in your mind so you can feel better about yourself? Who you think isn’t worth your time? If you check yourself, how many people do you hold with contempt? Perhaps it’s a group of people? A contemptuous frame of mind leads to self-righteousness. Speaker: Pastor Dave D’Angelo

  • The Moment of Judgement
We’re not good at waiting. We just aren’t. We’re used to having things instantly: Amazon, Instacart, fast-food, movies and TV in the palm of our hands: on-demand. This Parables Series has been good for us, because a recurring theme in Jesus’ teaching is learning how to wait. How do we wait in this in-between. He talks about the Kingdom of God not just in the next life, but in the here and now. Jesus is teaching us how to live in the meantime, between his resurrection and when He will come again. Today’s Parable though, is a bit different. Jesus is telling us the wait is over! Speaker: Pastor John Reilly
