    Jack Jablonski became a quadriplegic on December 30th, 2011 after being hit during his high school hockey game. In this episode, Jack dives into what his journey looks like, and how he keeps his positive and hopeful nature alive even during the darkest of times. 

    Jack is the founder of the BEL13VE in Miracles Foundation, a foundation that supports spinal cord injury research. With his work in his foundation, Jack truly embodies what it means to take something bad that has happened to you and do something positive with it. You will leave this episode feeling hopeful and inspired.

    Maggie Lyons is with us on this week’s episode to discuss her personal experience with mental health. Maggie has battled with anxiety a large sum of her life and was shortly diagnosed with depression when she came to college and discusses her struggle with suicidal thinking.

    Maggie was ultimately faced with one of the hardest decisions of her life as she had to choose between her own mental health and playing college lacrosse at Virginia Tech.

    Maggie’s vulnerability is a reminder for student athletes, and for everyone out there, that it is okay to be struggling and it is okay to ask for help.

  • Episode 8- Mary Griffin: My Body Image Journey

    Mary Griffin is BACK on this episode to get real and share her personal experience with body image and disordered eating.

    Mary dives into what her relationship with food, her body, and training as an athlete, has looked like especially during the transition into her freshmen year of playing college lacrosse. Mary also goes into details about tools and resources she uses as well has the steps she has taken to help navigate her body image and relationship with food.

    We have Anna Callahan on this episode of Not A 10! Anna is #10 (shoutout!) on the Duke Women's Lacrosse Team. Anna is an absolute ball of energy with the best vibes possible. On this episode, we dive into Anna's transition to her freshmen year at Duke and how an injury, her sexuality, and the pressure she put on herself, lead to her struggling with her own mental health.

    Anna shares how though reluctant at first, sought out help through her Behavioral Health Specialist at duke and how that has truly helped her regain her confidence to be her full authentic self.

    Anna works closely with the Non-profit "Morgan's Message" to help reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health and provide resources for student-athletes.

    Sarah Cahn, from Haverford Women's Lacrosse, is here on this episode of "Not A 10" to discuss her personal journey of her own sexuality and what her experience looked like coming out to her family, friends, and community. Sarah also dives into how society and being a part of the lacrosse community impacted her coming out experience and discusses her call to action to the lacrosse world.

    Sarah educates us on actions we need to take as a society, and as lacrosse players, to help normalize the LGBTQ+ experience and her hopes that one day coming out will not have to be as hard of a process specifically in a team setting.

    Through Sarah's vulnerability, leadership, and strength, she is a role model to the people in the younger generation who need someone to look up to!

    Chloe Kunstler is a "Non-diet registered dietitian to be" who focuses on body image, intuitive eating, and mental health. We discuss what intuitive eating is, how social media has played a role in shaping body image, and for my student-athlete friends out there, we also talk about relationship to training and food as an athlete. This episode features such an important topic especially today, and I highly recommend listening to Chloe and all of her insights.
