Enter the world of estate sales, buying collections from eccentric people, and the odd things people MUST have as I speak with vintage dealer/author, Duane Scott Cerny. We speak about his over 30 year career in all things vintage starting with selling things from his porch as a pre-teen to owning the largest multi-dealer antique store in Chicago. This was a fun conversation with a lot of fascinating stories, some that even made their way into his TWO best selling books on the topic, so whether you sift through antique stores weekly or have never stepped foot in one you are in for a wild, fun ride!

This week I chat with professional concert pianist, Nurry Lee, about her unique career in music. We talk about how she started, what it is like being a piano pro playing in some of the world's most famous venues, and what the future holds for her in music. We also talk about a VERY different topic that was her time on a UK reality show called "Killer Camp". This is a spooky elimination game where everyone at the camp is trying to determine the "killer" before being "killed off" themselves. This was a fun one with two very interesting topics!

This week I catch back up with Larry Jorgensen who was a past guest (Episode 64- Coca Cola Trail) this time about a shipwreck (and the book he wrote about it) that happened in the Great Lakes in 1925. This wreck resulted in 248 brand new 1926 Chrysler automobiles to be unloaded and stranded on a peninsula in Upper Michigan. This is an interesting story about a major shipwreck most of us have never heard about and a small town coming together to rescue these cars and the crew onboard who almost frozen in the winter conditions.

Food and embalming, casseroles and caskets! This week we talk about the real connection between the world of mortuary science and culinary arts with mortician and foodie, Amber Carvaly. This was a really interesting chat about a topic that many people are a bit hesitant to talk about....their grandma's recipes. BUT REALLY we talk about why grandma's recipes live on after she is no longer here and why food plays such a large role in how we remember those we love. Dig in or dig down as you will not want to miss one!

This week we go out of the world and potentially back as I speak with Martin Keller about the existence of aliens. He shares his extraterrestrial experiences and some history of the phenomenon as a whole. We exam whether aliens are real (spoiler: he definitely thinks they are) and what the future holds in the topic. This was an interesting conversation and I learned a lot. Whether you believe aliens exist or not everyone I believe will enjoy hearing the fascinating stories Mr. Keller shares. Climb aboard and listen in UFO sighted.

This week we jump back into the world of ninja sports with "The Commentator Ninja", Mary Leighton. She gives us a much deeper understand of what ninja is, where it is going (Olympics, anyone?), and opportunities for improvement. We also talk about her own unique experience on NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" and her YouTube channel all about ninja. This was a fun conversation about a sport I knew very little about and one that was very thoughtful as well as we dive into a conversation on how to improve the sport for women and young girls competing. You will not want to miss this one and if this was not enough ninja for you be sure to check out episode #99 with another Ninja Warrior and cat café worker!

This week we speak with a remarkable young person, Lucy Westlake, who in 2022 became the youngest American woman to summit the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. This only added to her accomplishments also being the youngest female to climb all 50 US state highpoints. We talk about her experiences at a mountaineer, what got her interested in the sport, her recent honor at ESPN's ESPY Awards (Billy Jean King Award), and what the future hold for someone already so accomplished. You will not want to miss this inspiring story!

This week is a special on for two reasons. One is a got to share the story of my grandmother growing up in 1940's Germany with you all. We met a lot of people together in this podcast, but being able to let you in on a part of my story was powerful. It was also amazing because this interview took place over ten years ago proving both that I was meant to interview people and that I had no clue about audio quality back then! Sorry for that, but I promise her amazing story is worth it! It was also special because is the ONE HUNDREDTH episode of the podcast! What a ride it has been and I am honored that you are on it with me. I talk for far to long at the beginning and end of this one about myself, how thankful I am for you listening, and most importantly how you can turn your listen into some cash with a contest I am having to celebrate 100. Check it out!

This week we fly through the air onto the next agility course as we talk about both American Ninja Warrior and running a cat café. Two very different topics that Cassie Dierks will tell us how they relate in a big way for her. She tells us about the cate café phenomenon, what running one is like, and on another subject how she was able to take her love for the sport of Ninja and be featured on NBC's American Ninja Warrior. This was a fun one about two very cool topics.
I also talk about the big 100 episode milestone coming next week! Be sure to SUBSCRIBE/FOLLOW the podcast on Apple, Spotify, and Instagram and leave a 5 star review on Apple and Spotify too. It just might make you eligible for a contest to celebrate 100!
