Sideshow Bob Sceptics Rich, Muzz and T-Bone sling superlatives at Clayton Oliver, Port's hot, hot heat, 'Flea' Weightman's acting, Toby Greene's madness and the brilliant Battle of the Bridge (played 1,419 kilometres from the Harbour Bridge), before the superlatives cease and Muzz turns on Ed Langdon, Rich turns on the 'barometer' and asks: after 6,203 days without a finals victory, was it really a free swing for the Bombers? And most importantly, will Richie have the balls to close business on Catman's beloved kitties?
Rich, Muzz and the Bone hold themselves to account for their pre-season predictions on 'wax', apologising to listeners for the monumentally stupid things they said - Richie's hot take for the Subway Suns to make the eight, T-Bone's eulogy for the 'vanilla' Swans, Muzz's Dee-struction of Melbourne - while also taking victory laps for the few predictions they got right and handing out their coveted post-season awards, such as the barn-burning game of the season and their favourite Chris Scott motorbike moment.
Still buzzing from the most exciting round of the season, Richie, Muzz and T-Bone get stuck into the major and minor plots of round 23: Dogs on thin ice, a mortal Bont, Petracca's tears, Clayton Oliver as Michael Voss, Adam Simpson as Keyser Söze, the Irish Kouta, T-Bone's report cards, Muzz's Dan Butler exclusive and Richie puts in one final on-air plea for Alastair Clarkson to join the Magpie Army.
In part two of T-Bone's homage to the ultimate showman, he (smugly) helps Rich and Muzz re-live the tragedy of Essendon's 1999 preliminary final loss to Carlton, and Kevin Sheedy's unique punishment for his players, culminating in arguably the greatest season of the AFL era, when perfection was denied by a 'Plough' Wallace solarium masterstroke!
Still tormented by lockdown captivity, Rich, Muzz and the Bone finally untether themselves from reality, succumbing to Jake Stringer hyperbole, trawling Tiger fan forums, psychoanalysing Marc Murphy, shedding their GWS arachnophobia, applying the 'Tassie' question to Fortune 500 Monoliths and cryptocurrencies, and - in true Julian Assange fashion - blowing the whistle on Stephen Hocking's premiership 'steal'.
T-Bone's coaching odyssey returns with a look at the great rat-cunning-salesman-pirate-back-pocket-plumber-megalomaniac: Kevin Sheedy. In part one of two, T-Bone takes Rich and Muzz through the blood baths of the mid 80s, to Sheeds losing his false teeth on Grand Final day in 1990, to the 'Baby Bombers' unlikely flag (with a sprinkling of tradie hitmen) in 1993, to his blistering spray in the SCG change rooms after Essendon's 1-point prelim loss in '96. An episode every AFL savant will enjoy!
Losing their minds amid Melbourne's sixth lockdown, Rich, Muzz and the Bone dial up the comedy gauge, critiquing Clarko's dual auditions, the tragic green shoots at Hawthorn, the gunslinging Bombers, North Melbourne's new unicorn, Toby's 'tap' on Danger's larynx and, not for the first (or last) time, Richie brings the entire podcast into disrepute by eviscerating the Navy Blues. WARNING: Carlton fans, please never listen to this episode!
In another special midweek episode, Muzz and Richie attempt mission impossible: to make a 36-minute chat about the saddest moments in the AFL era both tolerable and (accidentally) hilarious. From the passing of 'Pants' Millane, to Damian Drum's live-on-TV sacking, to the Wayne Carey, Anthony Stevens and Glenn Archer 'back alley' fallout, to the Roys' stink of death throughout their final season...rest assured, all the sad rivers of the AFL world will merge for one bleak, relentless episode!
Discombobulated from a 'Super Sunday' of football (that didn't turn out to be very super), Rich, Muzz and the Bone revert to SEN-style talkback antics as they dish the dirt on Horse's post-game tirade to the Swans after their victory, 'Banger' Harvey's irrefutable case to coach the Pies next year and why General Sherman needs to march the 'disgusting' Eagles towards the sea, where they will meet the Fremantle Dockers, whose inaccurate business may well be anchored to the ocean's floor by the end of this episode.
In the most puerile episode since the profiterole challenge, T-Bone doubles down on his own humiliation by joining Rich and Muzz via Zoom to chat about the Dogs' new fleabag, the Dees' deliberate tapering (not tanking!), Adam Simpson's 'foot in mouth' moment, a despicable, leather-clad Port big man and the Swans' chances of slingshotting their way to another cowardly premiership, before the podcast degenerates (even further) into faux 'around the grounds' commentary shenanigans.
