The party is joined by a wandering wizard named Xavian working for the Thistlespires. They continue exploring the manor while Oryon spends the morning with his new legion. Entering the dining hall, they find the last defenders of the Marsh family.

The morning has come and the showdown between Oryon and Albut looms. Leadership of the legion and the future of Marsh Island are at stake, as well as proving which being has the right interpretation of Edarr's teachings.

Oryon and the party make their way outside the stronghold to meet the hobgoblins and goblins that Grunk is there with. When Oryon and the hobgoblin priest Albut meet, a clash of theologies will erupt. Who can be right and who can be wrong? Meanwhile Chase and Jade make friends with the legion and create a new card game.

After resting, the party continues their exploration of the manor and into the stronghold below. Goblins await them below, but there's a discovery that will change most everything the party thinks.

After making a deal with the late Lord Marsh to bring Lord Commander Aleph to justice, the party begins looking for the entrance to the stronghold beneath the manor, exploring more of the manor and uncovering the grizzly remains of the Marsh family. Once they do find their way below, they'll discover they're not alone in the stronghold.

Finally the party reaches Marsh Manor and enters the long abandoned structure. Within they will learn the shocking truth of what happened to the Marsh family.

The party sets off the next morning to cross the harbor of Grimsby and arrive on Marsh Island. Mysteries await them there, as does a new companion.

The day after the party saved young Galla Thistlespire, they head over to the townhouse of the new noble family. There  party meets Lord Pallan Thistlespire and an offer is made that might very well ensure their survival for the winter.
