This week at The Firepit, we discussed inherited values, agreeing upon shared traits like introversion/extroversion balance, non-materialism, and a dislike for "bullshit." We debated celebrity accountability and trust in the context of Antonio Brown's legal issues, financial boundaries, and the importance of having genuine friends, while also sharing excitement and analysis regarding the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, including family history and casting choices. We also addressed serious current events, emphasizing the need to heed evacuation warnings during extreme weather like Hurricane Melissa, critiquing flaws in the welfare system and government shutdown implications, and raising concerns about ICE agent recruitment and the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses and community preparedness. And of course we discussed what has burned us up recently.
