Notre Dame has gone 33-5 the last three seasons and had earned a pair of college football playoff appearances, but that hasn't stopped national analysts from predicting a drop off. One analyst at ESPN even used his formula to predict a 7-5 season from the Fighting Irish. Some of the reasons for a predicted drop off are understandable, while others show a lack of true understanding of what Notre Dame returns. It also focuses too much on past failures that have little, if nothing to do with the current program.
