For the November Mixtape, we slow things down as winter takes hold in the northern hemisphere. The music is more introverted… soulful. Well at least that’s how the mix starts off.
We’ve got new tracks from Nightmares on Wax, Jungle, Diplo, Kraak & Smaak, Bonobo, Soulwax, Monster Rally, and DJ Numark. But before you start listening, check out the brand new animated video for Helado Negro’s new single, “Gemini and Leo.”
Helado Negro – Gemini and Leo
This month we also have a terrific cover of the 90s classic “Everybody Everybody” (originally performed by Black Box). It has been reimagined on this mix by Björn Wagner and DJ Nu-Mark as a chilled out banger. DJ Nu-Mark enlists the German funk music ensemble, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band to bring a summery island feel to the 90s dancefloor anthem. But before you listen to the new version of the tune, you should reaquiant yourself with the original song (and video). It’s brilliant.
Black Box – Everybody Everybody
By the way, The New LoFi has just turned ten years old and we are celebrating with a 10-track compilation featuring 10 of our favorite musicians from the past decade. If you want to get involved, order the limited-edition blue vinyl here.
