President Donald Trump confirmed his death on social media, calling him “great, and even legendary.” The president also ordered all American flags nationwide lowered to half-staff until Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Kirk, 31, was the co-founder of Turning Point USA, the largest conservative youth organization in the country.

Russian drones entered Polish airspace on Wednesday, according to Polish authorities, who say the drones were shot down with the support of military aircraft from NATO allies. It marks the first known instance of a NATO member firing shots during the war in Ukraine. Poland has invoked NATO’s Article 4, which allows member states to begin formal discussions about threats to their security. Russia, meanwhile, denied targeting Poland with drones.

President Donald Trump today condemned the fatal stabbing of a Ukrainian refugee in North Carolina. The suspect accused of killing 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska in August was free on cashless bail after having been arrested 14 times in the state.
