NthCast - A Nerd Podcast

Metal! You can only try to confine it for so long...We recap our Fear Factory concert experience and discuss the finer points of metal music, being a metalhead, and why metal music is important to society at large.

Make sure you check out Fear Factory's new album, 'Genexus' and give the band Once Human a listen as well. Totally worth your time. If you haven't seen 'Metal - A Headbanger's Journey', then get to it. This is required viewing for any metal aficionado. What band would you say started the Heavy Metal genre? We'll give you are opinion...

Thanks for listening and tell all the metalheads you know to check out this episode! And do forget to let us know your thoughts...

Be sure to check our 'Fear the Walking Dead' podcast aptly titled...Fear the NthCast! We're having a blast with it and honestly the show is pretty good. Very different from The Walking Dead and that's a good thing.

And remember...DO IT to the NthDegree!

Once upon a time there were two bearded weirdos or beardos, as some would say, who decided they would take a break from their normal madness to discuss fairy tales. Yeah, that's right we dig fairy tales. Mainly because most are rather gruesome and downright grim when you get right down to it...(see what I did there?)

So join us as we discuss the movie ' The Brothers Grimm', the ABC TV series 'Once Upon a Time', and maybe we throw in some literature talk as well. And we all know how much you enjoy that...

As always, thank for listening. When you get a second, please leave us a rating & review on iTunes - nthcast.com/itunes , it'll really help us out and make sure we can keep delivering you top notch, FREE entertainment.

And, there's also a Metal Minute on the new Lamb of God album. So basically this is a can't miss episode!

Episode 38: a Walking Dead extravaganza! To get us all hot & bothered for our new 'Fear the Walking Dead' podcast, we thought it might be a good idea to take a stroll down memory lane...why is the Walking Dead so popular? How will Fear the Walking Dead be different? And so many more questions...(not really, but who read this far?)

Is Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation the best movie of the summer? Is it better than Mad Max: Fury Road? Is it better than the Bourne movies or even James Bond? A resounding 'Hell No' is our answer...but why? Why can't we bring ourselves to like this critical darling? And people are going to see it by evidence of the box office...hmmm, let's discuss why we differ from the nom. Shall we?

Star Wars vs Star Trek...I'm not sure why we thought this was a good idea, but we tried to take opposing sides in the nerd debate of the ages. Did we bring honor to the respective franchises or did we fail miserably? And Spock vs Darth Vader? Really? How does that even work in the real world? We'll try harder on the next episode...

We should've just watched 'The Carbonite Maneuver' and been done with this whole thing...https://youtu.be/IuYhjAXIAro

Episode 35: Ant-Man, a Metal Minute, & the Austin Cobra...

Ant-man was a fun ride! Great casting (Paul Rudd made us a little nervous, but he pulled it off!), great story, and cool action made for an enjoyable summer flick. JD gives us a less than glowing recommendation of the new Coal Chamber album...And why the hell was there a cobra loose in Austin, TX?!

Read up on the Austin Cobra -http://www.texasmonthly.com/daily-post/let-us-remember-austin-cobra

And apparently, if you're saying at the Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi, you can get you a camel milkshakes -http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/10166824/Camel-milk-latte-anyone.html (Why wouldn't you?)

Episode 34: Video Game adaptations can be a mixed bag, but there are plenty of great movies that use video games as a backdrop. We discuss the movie eXistenZ and why we want to escape our reality into a world of pure fantasy where consequences for our actions are nonexistant...or are they. We also talk about the plethora of movie trailers released at this year's San Diego Comic Con. (Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Ash v Evil Dead, X-men: Apocalypse)...

Episode 32: Is the new Wachowski's Netflix series, Sense8 worth the time & effort? And what other TV/ Movies have had a personal mind-bending effect on us....
