An Australian lawyer says a class action lawsuit brought by New Zealand deportees against the Australian government will seek to stop families being split up during detention. The group, deported under Australia's controversial 501 policy, also want to establish that indefinite detention is illegal. Their case will likely be heard at a Federal Court. Max Towle speaks to the director of the Australian Lawyers' Alliance Greg Barns about their chances.
