This is an exceptional service where we continue our series "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry" with Campus Pastor Adam Stewart. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus talked about the way to live a life free of worry and anxiety. Let’s slow down for a moment, and look at how we can simplify our lives to become more like Jesus.

Campus Pastor Adam Stewart will share how "hurry" often manifests in a relentless bother called distraction. In the non-stop noise of our modern lives, distraction keeps us from the one thing that matters most: intimacy with God. Let’s look at how Moses and Jesus eliminated the hurry of distraction through several ancient spiritual disciplines.

"Starting life in a brand-new country did not complete my escape. I often tell people that even though you could take me out of Communism, it was an entirely different matter to take Communism out of me! It was not until I gave my life to Jesus that I found the freedom, peace and joy that I had been yearning for." - Georgian Banov

Georgian Banov was born in communist Bulgaria. As a teenager, he was a founding member of the first official rock 'n roll band in the country. Seeking freedom, he risked his life by escaping through the Iron Curtain and was mightily saved after coming to the United States. Georgian and his wife Winnie are the founding leaders of Global Celebration; they are a radical team bringing joy and freedom all over the world. They were part of the core team who wrote and produced the famous children's albums Music Machine and Bullfrogs & Butterflies, which sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide. Georgian also led the popular '80s Christian band Silverwind. Their teaching and their ministry are full of God's loving, joyful presence, bringing miracles and changing lives. Today they are dedicated to training ministry students and leaders, rescuing and caring for trafficked children, helping marginalized impoverished communities and hosting evangelistic missionary events and conferences. Georgian was one of the principal writers and producers of the award-winning children's albums, Music Machine and Bullfrogs & Butterflies. He also led the popular '80s Christian band Silverwind. Today, his teaching and ministry are full of God's love, joy, freedom and supernatural breakthrough.

Do you ever feel like you barely survive, just trying to keep your head above water? Without thinking, we can easily create chaos in our lives by pursuing the wrong things. Let’s work together to ruthlessly eliminate what keeps us from living a life like Jesus.

Application/Action

What do you want people to do? Jesus said/ this is what it means / this is what it means today.

Taking his yoke requires putting off the old yoke.

Saying no is a complete sentence. -author???

If love is the greatest value in the kingdom, how does hurry affect your ability to give and receive love?

“Hurry and love are incompatible.” - John Mark Comer

 Love is painfully time-consuming

Love is… patient. - Apostle Paul

What do you do when you don’t know what to do? When we face uncertain times, it can be difficult to discern the will of God. In looking at the life of the Apostle Paul, we see a pattern of how to discover God’s will when everything around us seems to be in chaos.
