This is the concluding message of the week long Sunday School Board Assist Team Conference held at the Broadman - Glorieta  Media Center.

Dr. McIntyre gave a powerful message with a commitment challenge for all those in attendance.

This is the first of two concluding messages at the week long Sunday School Board Assist Team Conference held at the Broadman - Glorieta Media Center.

Dr. McIntyre used the Scripture passage of the man sick with the palsy being lowered through the roof for Jesus to heal. An excellent illustration of the assist theme at work.

This very special service marked the 20th anniversary of the Sanctuary of Brainerd Baptist Church (1966-1986) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The special guest speaker for this occasion was Dr. Ralph McIntyre who was pastor at Brainerd from 1959 until 1977. Also in attendance was Harry Hampsher who was the Minister of Music at Brainerd from 1965 until 1977.

This recording is of the entire service including a remembrance of the ministry of Ralph McIntyre during his years there and his input of details and ideas for the sanctuary with its crystal chandelier, engraved Scripture passages, the magnificent organ and the warmth this building lent to the spirit of worship over the years.

Special welcome was also given to the family of Ralph McIntyre (Pierce and family and Gigi and family) in attendance and also Martha Hampsher wife of Harry Hampsher. Harry and Martha were home on furlough from the mission field as music missionaries in Portugal.

The congregation was then blessed by a mini concert of solo selections from Harry Hampsher.

It was related to the congregation that the first service in this sanctuary was on January 16, 1966 with the formal dedication taking place on January 23, 1966 with Dr. Robert G. Lee presenting his famous sermon, "Pay Day Someday."  

The flowers placed in the sanctuary for this special occasion were in memory of Sue McIntyre, wife of Ralph McIntyre, who entered the presence of the Lord in 1975. The flowers were also placed in honor of Dr. Ralph McIntyre.

Dr. McIntyre's message was marked with expressions of love and appreciation to the people of Brainerd and to the Lord for His leading and blessing the ministry of this church and this building over the past 20 years. 

The service concluded with the singing of "Amazing Grace."

The service was conducted by the pastor of J.R. McIntyre. He titled his message "The Untroubled Heart" and read from Psalm 91 and other passages. Ramona _____ sang several selections chosen by the family including "The King Is Coming," "In the Garden," The Old Rugged Cross," and "How Great Thou Art."

This message was delivered at a Broadman conference at the Glorieta Media Center. Dr. McIntyre challenged the attendees that it was time when we must come down from the mountain to serve Him and to do what Jesus asks us to do.

This evening service at First Baptist of Nashville, Tennessee began with a beautiful 30 minute concert by Max Lyall at the piano.

Dr. McIntyre then spoke of the many advantages of the Christian life in today's world. The Lord has given each of us special gifts. We have a guide for our faith with a living Lord and a living book with guidelines on how to live. Everyday of our lives is a day of victory in Jesus Christ with our sins forgiven, with a personal heavenly Father and an eternal home at the end of our journey. 

The message this Sunday morning at First Baptist of Nashville, Tennessee was for a church in the midst of transition as they looked forward to the soon arrival of their new pastor. Brother McIntyre encouraged the congregation to face their unknown tomorrow by trusting the Lord and wherever He led to go.

Before the Lord's Supper on this Sunday Evening at First Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee Brother McIntyre spoke on the elements as symbolic of Christ's love for us and so should we love one another.

That evening Kelly Newman and the Children's Choir presented the special music.

This Sunday morning service for First Baptist Church of Nashville, Tennessee was a very significant service as the church affirmed the selection of a new pastor after a fourteen month period of searching by the church Pulpit Committee. Dr. McIntyre was a member of that search group and on this Sunday morning he spoke on the importance of pastoral leadership and the pilgrimage of faith they had been on in seeking God's leading in finding the man of God the Lord wanted for this pastorate. Brother McIntyre related that he had been in Christian ministry for 40 years with 31 of those years in the pastorate and he had found it quite interesting to be on the other end of the search process. It was announced to the congregation that Dr. Charles Page and family would be moving to Nashville and his first Sunday would be March 17, 1985. 

With this message Brother McIntyre has returned to Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee to fill the pulpit while the pastor is on a trip to Africa. Brother McIntyre served as pastor for 18 1/2 years at Brainerd before accepting the position of the Director of Church and Staff Support Division at the Sunday School Board in Nashville, Tennessee two years previously. 

This recording is of the complete morning service which include a solo sang by Candy McIntyre, the daughter of Dr. McIntyre. Her selection was "To God Be the Glory."

At the conclusion of the service Brother McIntyre shares the joy he has experienced to be back home and states,"There is no single spot on the face of the earth that is dearer to my heart than the pulpit in which I now have the privilege of standing."
