这个谚语的意思是与其为了得到更好的东西而冒着可能失去现有东西的风险，不如抓住自己现在所拥有的东西。满足于现有的比过分追求而失去一切要更好。

might 可能，也许（表示可能性）

offer 报价。根据语境，offer 作名词可能是“建议，提议”，也可能是“（学校）录取通知，（工作）录用通知”。

所以，大家想表示“我同意了，但并不是很情愿。”这种心情时，可以说

这节课我们来学不情愿地同意的时候要怎么说

If you must.

如果你一定要的话。/ 如果你非要的话。 

must 一定，必须

一说这句话就能听出来说话人很勉强地同意，不太愿意。

B: 如果你非要抽的话。

这里，Can I smoke? 是一般的问句，不是特别客气的询问，所以我们表示出不情愿的同意 If you must. 比较自然。

如果对方用很客气的话询问我们，是否介意ta吸烟？Do you mind if I smoke? 这种情况，特别是我们和ta不熟悉，我个人建议如果同意就直接说 No. I don't mind. 我不介意。如果不同意就客气地拒绝，说 Sorry.

“If you must.如果你非要的话。”会表达出说话人的不客气。

A: Do you mind if...? 

B: If you must.

语法上是没问题的，但是要注意句子所传达的情感（情绪）。如果确认想表达出不客气，或者说表达出勉强同意的情绪，可以这么说。

再来看一个例子，开窗子，如果有人问我们：

Do you mind if I open the window? 或 

Is it OK if I open the window?

这两句都是比较客气的询问，同样，如果同意就说 No.(I don't mind.)/ Yes.(It's OK.)。不同意就客气地拒绝，比如说 Sorry, it's too cold. 不好意思，太冷了。（所以请别打开窗子。）

当然，问句和回答的客气程度不一定是统一的。这和说话双方所处的位置，所表达的情感都有关系。

如果是别人问我们拿东西，特别是食物，可以说：

拒绝对方时要怎么说呢？

如果直接说 No./ No you can't. 会听起来 very rude 非常粗鲁，没有礼貌。我们要用一些婉转的方式，比如：

B: Sorry, this seat's already taken.

A: 我可以坐在这里吗？
