After experiencing alienation and discrimination from her in-laws, Tales of a Modern Buhari (TMB) was born. In this deeply moving episode about the intricacies of the relationship with our in-laws, we explore how and why the modern saasu/buhari (mother-in-law/daughter-in-law) relationship is in some ways the same where there is an expectation that the new daughter-in-law is subservient to the family. And when there are differences in opinion, the woman caves. That's how the dynamics are. TMB shares stories of daughter-in-laws who confide in her and how she feels torn at their plight.
