Ep.69 Offering After a Loss Services as a Business with Heather Taylor

After the loss of a loved one, a multitude of tasks and responsibilities can weigh heavily on the grieving family, adding to the emotional burden they already bear. Amidst the pain and sorrow, there is the need to clean, make funeral arrangements, and fulfill various necessary obligations and funeral logistics. Without adequate support, this period will be stressful since every detail can contribute to the overwhelming nature of grief. That is where after-loss services come in, offering vital assistance during such trying times. Heather Taylor, who joins us in this episode with her wealth of experience in running a similar business, provides invaluable tips and insights for those passionate about helping hurting families or starting such a business.

Heather Taylor, a Canadian nurse with more than 30 years of experience, including 18 years in Michigan, is a dedicated wife and mother. Her career has included a variety of healthcare settings, such as a high-security prison and a cancer care unit, in addition to her role as one of the first nurses at St. Joseph's Hospice. She has also made significant contributions to the West Lambton Community Health Centre and currently works as a Crisis Mental Health Nurse, closely collaborating with law enforcement agencies. Heather's true passion is providing support to families experiencing grief. A decade ago, she earned a certification in understanding and assisting with grief, loss, and bereavement, which led to her establishment of "After a Loss," a business that offers essential support and kindness during individuals' most challenging moments of loss.
