Oh My Goodness! with Aj Smit episodes

  • Ep. 50 Aj’s Joy Glossary (A–C) Access Points, Corn Cob Holders, and More!

In this episode, I’m giving you a peek behind the curtain of my weird and wonderful vocabulary. Think of it as an Oh My Goodness! glossary for your tender nervous system. I walk you through words like access point, adventure day, Barbara (your inner critic), big soul self, bricking, chandeliering, chuck-it-in-the-bucket, collecting, context, and corn cob holder days—and why they matter for your real, messy life.

My goal is to give you practical, playful language so you can navigate hard days, honor your limits, and stay rooted in joy without gaslighting your own experience. This is only A-C, so there will be more glossary episodes!

  • Ep. 49 Breath, Desire, and Deconstructing Shame with Eva Blake

In this episode of Oh My Goodness, I sit down with the phenomenal Eva Blake, a somatic sex educator and liberator of desire. Together we talk about sex, shame, purity culture, perimenopause, and what it actually means to want more from your life and your body. Eva brings so much grounded wisdom on breath, nervous system safety, and how to untangle your true desires from the stories you were handed. If you’ve ever wondered, “Is it okay to want this?” or “Am I broken?”, this conversation is a big, loving permission slip just for you.

    Eva’s Bio:

Eva Blake is a Certified Sexological Bodyworker, Somatic Sex Educator, and transformational coach with nearly two decades at the intersection of erotic intelligence, nervous system attunement, and liberation. She has been a pro domme, a sex worker, and a community priestess.

She has worked across the full map of erotic and relational life: BDSM and kink, polyamory, orgasm and women's sexual power, rebuilding trust after rupture, visionary erotic leadership. If it lives in the body or between two people, she has been there.

Her clients are high-performing women and couples who have built extraordinary lives — and whose beds have gone quiet, whose chemistry has flattened into routine, whose sex life has become the one place ambition doesn't reach.

She works where most coaches won't: at the collision point between personal pattern and cultural architecture, between the nervous system and the systems that shaped it. Patriarchy colonizes desire. Eva's work liberates it.

Her methodology, Desire, Body, Voice, is somatic, systemic, and unsparing.

Clients come when fine is no longer enough. They stay because the work works.

  • Ep. 48 Imposter Syndrome and How I Move Through it

In this episode, I’m getting real about imposter syndrome—the “who do I think I am?” spiral—and how I keep showing up anyway. I share stories from teaching henna and tarot, what I’ve learned about honoring cultural roots, and why natural henna and intentional adornment matter. You’ll hear how I use Tarot as a tool for intuition, not fortune-telling, and why joy, consent, and integrity are non-negotiable in my work. You’ll walk away with practical questions to ask yourself, a reminder to gather evidence of your brilliance, and permission to trust the quiet knowing in your own body.

  • Ep.47 What to do when Resistance Crashes the Joy Party

On this podcast episode, I talk about what it actually looks like to live a joyful, absurd, embodied life while still being a human with resistance, doubt, and a messy brain. I share stories from my own burnout, healing, travel, ADHD, spiritual practices, and daily rituals—plus the tools I use with clients to navigate shame, “it’s too late,” perfectionism, and people-pleasing.

We explore joy as an experiment, how to listen to your body, lower the bar, and find access points that feel doable. Think practical magic: real feelings, real tools, lots of glitter, and zero pretending everything’s fine.

  • Ep. 46 Travel Habits, Routines, and Feeling like me on the Road

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what actually happens to my habits when I travel. Spoiler: I do not keep my strict Mississippi routine of 4:30 a.m. gym, 12-step, journaling, and early bedtime—and that’s okay. I walk you through my “Aj minimum requirements” instead: breakfast, meds, a little quiet brain-boot-up time, some kind of soul care, and feeling like myself in my body and my clothes.

This is your gentle permission slip to loosen your grip, stay flexible, and ask, “What do I need today to show up fully as me while I’m traveling?”

  • Ep. 45 When You’re Not in the Mood for Joy: Sliding the scale and 5% effort

In this episode of Oh My Goodness, I’m inviting you into the messy middle of “I’m not in the mood for joy.” I walk you through my very real, very rainy Pride day—how I almost stayed home, what actually got me out the door, and why “doing the least” can still count as big joy. We’ll talk about joy resistance, all-or-nothing thinking, stretchy affirmations, and treating yourself like a tender little toddler instead of a drill sergeant. If you’re tired, overwhelmed, or feeling “meh,” this one’s your cozy permission slip to try just 5% more joy.

  • Ep. 44 Becoming a Co-Conspirator of Your Life with Joy

In this episode I'm talking about Absurdist Delight, and the Absurdity of just living in this day and age and how coming at it from a conspiratorial lens can shift many a thing.

We talk about types of joy, how to discover what brings you joy, the spicy thoughts that can get in the way, and how deciding to show up with the uncomfortable can be where so much magic is at.

  • Ep. 43 The “Don’t Be Too Much” Mental Battle

This episode kicks off Season 2 of Oh My Goodness, and I’m catching you up on the wild, beautiful swirly whirlwind of the last two months. I share how Knutepunkt and Meant for Magic double‑stamped my work around joy, play, embodiment, and immersive experiences . I also talk about how much the don't take up too much space voice comes up and why my glitter, elf ears, and sobriety are all part of that story of what it means to be too much and also embracing it and not making it mean I'm actually too much.

I walk you through the Absurdist Delight Summer of Reckless Joy, what it’s revealing about my own resistance, and how tiny choices (snacks, naps, sparkles, clothes) can shift our energy. At the core, I’m inviting you to choose your joy, your way today, and not let your Inner Critic who tells you it's too much get in your way.

In this episode, I’m talking to the you who is tired, overwhelmed, and honestly not in the mood for “just choose joy.” We name the absurd reality we’re living in, and then I walk you through how to work with what’s true—like when it’s raining—rather than getting stuck in how it “should” be. You’ll hear stories, nervous system check-ins, and super accessible ways to invite in tiny pockets of joy, even from bed. We’ll explore imagining better scenarios, tending to your body, and letting community support you as you remember: you are worthy of delight, always.

  • Ep. 41 Creating Rituals that Flourish in Larps, Retreats & Events

I gave this talk at the Knutpunkt conference in Sweden, in a workshop on creating rituals that feel potent in games and events, but it's applicable across the board. I share more deeply about a few different facets of the rituals, and ideas and examples for you to be able to apply them to your life.
