  • Fuller House: S2E11: DJ and Kimmy's High School Reunion (The "Reunion" Series)
    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered the final episode in the "Reunion" series, with Fuller House S2E11: DJ and Kimmy's High School Reunion, which aired on December 9. 2016.
In this episode a high school reunion leaves DJ wondering whether she still has feelings for Steve, while a hapless Kimmy is trending for all the wrong reasons.
I enjoyed this episode, but Michael Campion's (Jackson Fuller)acting in the scene where Stephanie tries to talk to him in his bedroom and he's tearing up or trying and failing to cry it just feels like those scenes that require him to be upset or portray a strong emotion is difficult for him, we're so used to seeing him play a not taken seriously goof and Lola obsessed.
Also the surprise cameos, Kathi Santoni (YAY!), Duane (Kimmy's ex-boyfriend from Full House Season 8) (YAY!), Nelson and Viper (BOO!) we could have done without this two they were too cornball and way out of place (DJ even asks Viper , "What are you even doing here, you didn't go to my high school). Apparently, he's now a sad sack who's just wasted at the time who works at Foot Locker. Nelson (not played by Jason Marsden BTW instead played by Hal Sparks) is ridiculous and just brags to DJ about how much money he still has, multiple homes and a jet, WHO CARES!
Thankfully Steve comes to rescue her and they dance to "Everything I Do" (I'd Do It For You)from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, they even have a special dance they do to this song as they belt out the lyrics (If you remember them crooning to their other favorite movie song "Unchained Melody" from Ghost in Fuller House Season 1, Save The Dates, this one isn't much different than that, just add the dancing.
Join me in late July when I celebrate two Full House and Fuller House Cast Member Birthdays with episode dedications, for Lori Loughlin's (Aunt Becky)Birthday,
Full House S8E21: Leap Of Faith, which aired on March 21, 1995.
In this episode Jesse tries to stop Rebecca from bungee jumping--but thinks it's okay if he takes risks. Michelle cons her dad into letting her go to a rock concert.
    and
Michael Campion's(Jackson Fuller) Birthday with, Fuller House S1E6: The Legend Of El Explosivo, which aired on February 26, 2016.
In this episode DJ punishes Jackson, causing him to miss his favorite Mexican wrestling league, Lucha Kaboom. But that only leads to more action for the fans.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Full House: S4E2: Crimes and Michelle's Demeanor (In Honor of Father's Day and Danny Tanner)
    Happy Father's Day Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, in honor of Father's Day and Danny Tanner, I cover Full House S4E3: Crimes and Michelle's Demeanor, which aired on September 28, 1990.
In this episode when Michelle misbehaves, Danny is in denial, believing she is still too young to be punished. Jesse shops for an engagement ring and makes a sacrifice that Becky thinks is too much. DJ and Stephanie face the wrath of Danny after a pillow fight started by the youngest Tanner takes a drastic turn.
Let's just say Danny really got on my nerves this episode. His whole Michelle can do no wrong attitude and even blaming the older girls for not stepping up when it comes to Michelle's unacceptable behavior.
Someone needs to remind Danny he's the parent with two other co parents Jesse and Joey, so Stephanie and DJ don't have to act as junior parents in training. Also four years old is not to young to discipline, they should have started earlier in my opinion.

    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered Full House S7E3: Wrong Way Tanner, which aired on September 28, 1993.
In this episode while her skills are questionable, Michelle is having lots of fun playing on the soccer team- until she scores the winning goal for the other team. Meanwhile, Stephanie catches everyone's most embarrassing moments on her video camera.
I really had a fun time with this episode, it brought some teenage soccer memories for me.

    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered the next episode in the "Reunion" Series for June, Full House S4E9: One Last Kiss, which aired on November 16, 1990.
In this episode Jesse eagerly anticipates his high school reunion until an ex-girlfriend contacts him and Stephanie throws a birthday party for Comet to celebrate his 1st Birthday.
Boy, oh boy do I unload on Jesse's ex-girlfriend Carrie in this episode.
I can't stand her. After 10 years she's still not over Jesse and won't take no for an answer even when he tells her he's engaged. His bandmates don't help the situation at the reunion by encouraging Jesse to dance with her and play Jesse and Carrie's song "Muskrat Love".
After Jesse walks out on Carrie at the reunion she follows him home,
    Um... stalker much?
Danny offers some great advice to Jesse as in you need to be fair to Becky and take care of this Carrie situation before you and Becky walk down the aisle.
I often wonder how Carrie would have reacted if Jesse had brought Becky to the reunion with him. No way would Becky have stood for Carrie hanging on Jesse the way she was. In the end Jesse chose correctly. Becky has more to offer and Carrie just couldn't let go of the past.

  • Full House: S3E23: Fraternity Reunion (The "Reunion" Series)
    Happy Full House Friday,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm kicking off June with The "Reunion" Series in honor of my 20 year high school reunion this year (I won't be attending), and I covered Full House S3E23: Fraternity Reunion, which aired on April 27, 1990.
In this episode a fraternity reunion has Danny and Joey dressed in drag. And in jail. Danny also bans Kimmy from the house for 3 weeks over the family TV is knocked over the railing and smashes to the floor. Who knew that attempting to watch two TVs at once could result in such a funny accident and a banishment. This was also a standard definition TV from the 90's and you all know how heavy those things were if you ever tried to lift one. Here's a tip: It takes two people.
How far would you go to get a coveted college emblem back from a rival college? Would you go so far as Danny and Joey did? John Stamos gets a break from the show for an episode by the writers having Jesse take a drive through the woods looking worse for wear upon his return at the end than when he left.
This episode was as hilarious as I remember.

  • Full House: S5E22: The Trouble With Danny (In Honor Of Bob Saget's (Danny Tanner) Birthday)
    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today in honor of Bob Saget's (Danny Tanner) Birthday (May 17), I decided to cover Full House S5E22: The Trouble With Danny, which aired on March 17, 1992.
In this episode Danny's Mr. Clean attitude during the annual Spring Cleaning of '92 pushes everyone to their breaking point,
Danny (he's in DJ's closet hanging shelf paper, it's the family's reward for working over four hours on cleaning the house, they all get new shelf paper in their closets)overhears the family's We're Tired of Danny's Mr. Clean Personality Support Group meeting in DJ's room, hashing out their dislikes of Danny's rules one of which is chewing each bite of food 24 times before swallowing (a bit much I think)and his constant ramblings and stories not to mention cleaning the logs in the fire place(who does this?), and lastly let's not forget his brainwashing of Michelle turning her into a mini Danny which the family agrees is the last thing they need.
Danny is crestfallen after hearing this and heads to the mountains to do something thinking and reinvents himself. We can't forget Norman the donkey. What a sweetheart to put up with Danny becoming one with nature.
Upon his arrival, the family has no idea what to make of this new dirty version of Danny, he smells like donkey and he's throwing his jacket on the floor, scattering potato chips everywhere and drinking milk straight outta the carton.
The family admits they miss the old Danny which is enough for him drop his bad habits and embrace his true self.
Also the twins Nicky and Alex learn to crawl, which was cute to watch since we'll miss out on them learning to walk and say their first words once Season 6 begins the boys are toddlers.
I play clips from Season 2's Goodbye Mr. Bear and you can decide for yourself which Danny was the worst during Spring Cleaning.
I say Season 2's episode, he was so angry with Jesse for messing up his kitchen.
I had a fun time with this episode and hope you enjoy it too.

  • Fuller House: S5E13: College Tours (In Honor Of Mother's Day 2021)
    Happy Full House Friday,
Angela Bowen here the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, in honor of Mother's Day I decided to cover Fuller House S5E13: College Tours, which aired on June 2, 2020.
In this episode Kimmy finds out Ramona is looking at colleges on the East coast, she and DJ take Ramona and Jackson on a tour of Cal University. DJ tries to get Jackson enthusiastic about college and discovers he has talents that she hadn't noticed. Stephanie plans a day of relaxation and Jimmy, Fernando and Steve are out trying on tuxes.
In all honesty DJ really got on my nerves this episode with her overly perkiness like it was set to overdrive.
I really enjoyed the guys at the bridal and tuxedo shop along with Max insulting Berta's (shop owner) fashion and apparently Max can speak some Russian (which comes in handy later on) this was more fun and enjoyable than the college tour plot in my opinion.
I hope you all enjoy this review and join me later this month when I cover in honor of Bob Saget's birthday Full House S5E22: The Trouble With Danny, which aired on March 17, 1992.
In this episode Danny is overzealous about spring cleaning and the family is fed up with taking orders from Mr. Over-Clean.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Full House: S8E15: My Left And Right Foot (Weird But Funny Dream Sequences Series)
    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered the final episode in the Weird But Funny Dream Sequences Series with Full House S8E15: My Left and Right Foot, which aired on January 31, 1995.
In this episode Michelle frets about the size of her feet after DJ, Stephanie and Kimmy tease her at the shoe store. Just like with Michelle, Jesse and the guys continue the tradition of Bear songs before bed for Nicky and Alex with the song "Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins, yes, the same musical artist who preformed "Danger Zone" in the movie Top Gun and "Footloose" in the movie of the same name created this beautiful gem of a song, "Return To Pooh Corner". Becky comes in and interrupts their musical number by singing off key very loudly. Jesse takes it upon himself to help Becky with her singing but it only leads to him criticizing her, later he finally hears her singing to the boys and realizes he was wrong to misjudge her.
I'll tell you, even reading the lyrics of this song brought on the tears.
This is one time I actually felt for Michelle, the ribbing (teasing) from her older siblings was too much and I think sometimes older siblings don't realize their teasing can go too far and having damaging effects especially on a younger sibling. Michelle is at first happy her feet are growing so much, the salesman actually says she has healthy feet (interesting, is he also a pediatrist?) is he qualified to make that assessment?
Quickly due to the teasing, Michelle's demeanor turns from happy to sour and then she starts feeling anxious like there's something wrong with her because he feet have grown two sizes in one year and then she becomes determined to fix the problem with the help of her friend Lisa who suggests she shrink her feet with a bucket full of cold water, ice and shrink wrap.
I like how Danny explains to Michelle how her feet growing two sizes a year is just her body developing as she gets older. He also tells DJ and Stephanie that their teasing of Michelle was wrong and they have to be careful of how they say things because hurtful words could be damaging to little kids self esteem.
    Final Thoughts On Episode:
Words can hurt, choose them wisely.
Join me next month in May when I cover Fuller House S5E13: College Tours, which aired on June 2, 2020 for Mother's Day.
In this episode Kimmy finds out Ramona is looking at colleges on the East coast, she and DJ take Ramona and Jackson on a tour of Cal University. DJ tries to get Jackson enthusiastic about college and discovers he has talents that she hadn't noticed.
and also for Bob Saget's Birthday Episode on May 17, Full House S%E22: The Trouble With Danny, which aired on March 17, 1992.
In this episode Danny is overzealous about spring cleaning which leads to the rest of the family to have a Things That Danny Does That We Don't Like Meeting in DJ's room however unbeknownst to them Danny overhears as he was putting new shelf paper in DJ's closet.
Feeling the family is tired of his over the top cleaning ways, he flees to the mountains for some self reflecting and comes back a changed Danny or does he?

  • Full House: S7E15: The Test (Weird But Funny Dream Sequences Series)
    Happy Full House Friday Everyone,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm covering the second episode in the Weird But Funny Dream Sequences Series with Full House S7E15: The Test which aired on January 11, 1994.
In this episode D.J. stresses out over taking the S.A.Ts, despite her family's reassurances that 'it's just a test'.
This episode was hysterical when it got to the dream sequence, from the annoying lady (Iola Boylen from the TV Show Mama's Family) with the dog as the teacher, DJ showing up in her pajamas, the family showing up individually to interrupt the test, to downright cringeworthy with a scene between Kimmy and Steve (you'll know it when you get to it). I think up to that point when I first watched it at 11, I thought it was happening in real time, until the Steve/Kimmy scene.
Joey's Joe Pesci potato impressions weren't great and to repeat them throughout the episode ad nauseum was ridiculous.
Michelle and the twins with their Safety Patrol had me recalling the Season 4 episode Working Girl where Michelle is the Polite Police at Preschool and lets the power go to her head.
I loved Vanna White guest starring as herself and then as the teacher giving the test at the end.

  • Full House: S3E19: Those Better Not Be The Days (Weird But Funny Dream Sequences Series)
    Happy Friday Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
This month I'm kicking off a new series called Weird But Funny Dream Sequences and today I'm focusing on Full House: Those Better Not Be The Days, which aired on February 23, 1990.
In this episode It's not Friday, but things sure get freaky when the men and girls switch roles for a day.
This episode had me out of breath laughing in some scenes once we got to the dream sequence of what the guys envision their future if the girls are still living in the house 25 years later. I mean Jesse in the wig, GAH!
I do to the best of my ability of impressions of the guys as older men.
Let's back up a moment to explain what led up to this dream sequence kicks off.
Kimmy's mom is taking the girls to an amusement park for the day (no, we don't meet her), this surprises me since she never seems to want to spend time with her own daughter(because Kimmy sees to always be at the Tanner house) but she'll babysit someone else's three kids for the day, hmm?
The girls mainly DJ and Steph (Michelle gets a break cause she's 3)are all demanding of the guys when it comes to Danny with DJ's sweater (he even had a garment bag for it) she shoves it in her backpack, Steph with Joey getting her camera for her plus extra film, batteries and lens cleaner all in a ziplock bag (it's a 35 mm camera for crying out loud) she disregards it and says "I don't want to lug all that stuff around, I'll just buy postcards" she also has a backpack btw and poor Jesse made a map of the park for the girls(now this is pre internet so he must have committed to memory from his many times at this amusement park to sketch and draw this massive map, which the girls tell him "well, that was a waste of time", because they're going to ride Screaming Thunder all day long (so most of the day will be spent waiting in line).
After the amusement park is a no go due to rain, the girls continue with the demands and ruining the guy's plans for the day to the point where Danny has them play a role reversal game with DJ and Steph as parents and the guys as kids.
The lunch time routine had me in tears I was laughing so hard.
The whole thing in the future with adult Kimmy grossed me out with the guys mainly Joey being attracted to Kimmy, eww!
Poor Becky, with straw hat, glasses, and her polyester pants and balloon booty and Mama's Family gray wig. What a fright!
