  • Fuller House: S2E10: New Kids In The House (In Honor Of Candace Cameron Bure's Birthday)
    Hey Fuller House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today in honor of Candace Cameron Bure's (DJ Tanner Fuller) Birthday I decided to cover Fuller House S2E10: New Kids In The House, which aired on December 9, 2016.
In this episode Kimmy and Stephanie have an epic surprise planned for DJ's 39th birthday, but things don't go as planned.
I thought this was a fun episode. I grew up in the 80's listening to New Kids On The Block through my older sister who had the cassette tape. I got the New Kids On The Block Fashion Plates for Christmas back in 1991.
If I had two choose between this episode and the other celebrity cameo with the Beach Boys on Full House in Beach Boy Bingo, I would probably choose that one over this.
I thought this one was cute and funny with some moments but the Full House Beach Boys Episode had more weight to it, not just with DJ winning tickets to the Beach Boys, but Jesse and Joey with their jingle writing and wanting the Beach Boys to hear their tape of their jingle and collab with them on it.
In this episode we get Max and the reprise of his trumpet playing "Old McDonald",
Kimmy basically stalked NKOTB which honestly was funny and irritating at the same time, poor DJ making a fool of herself when she meets the band due to being under the influence of a heavy dose of pain pills due to as cracked crown and an emergency run to the dentist after she ate a birthday cupcake that had the key to the jewelry box Max had hid inside. Luckily for her, Stephanie filmed DJ's embarrassing interact with the New Kids On The Block, for her to see later.
Steve outgifts Matt in The DJ Birthday Gift War when he gives her a replacement Pillow Person he bought off eBay after Matt gifts DJ with his and her tennis rackets.
The last half of the episode is mainly concert footage and the New Kids On The Block invite DJ up on stage and serenade her.
This Episode is also dedicated to Podcast Listener Shamim Dana who mentioned in my interview with him that this is his favorite Fuller House Episode.
    Happy Early Birthday Shamim!
I hope you all enjoy this episode.
    Have a great week!

  • Full House: S7E19: Love On The Rocks (The Break Up Double Feature)
    Hey Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered the final episode of The Break Up Double Feature, Full House: S7E19: Love On The Rocks, which aired on March 1, 1994.
In this episode D.J. tells Becky that she is worried about her relationship with Steve after he goes to a film seminar for college in Los Angeles. She feels that they have been growing apart and their relationship has lost it's passion. Kimmy who is dating a guy named John who she refers to as Keanu (my guess is because of Keanu Reeves) also has opinions on DJ and Steve's relationship calling them boring.
Andrea Barber has more kissing scenes in this episode than I can count on one hand. I remember in her book when she mentioned a guy that she had to kiss on the show that made her uncomfortable and she sought advice from Lori Loughlin on how to get through the scene.
I think this is that guy she was referring to in her book because the only other guy she kissed on the show was Bitterman and that was back was in Season 3.
I like how DJ asks Danny for advice especially since he just broke up with Vicki five episodes prior, he has good advice for her. I love their heart to heart moments.
Joey kicks off April Fools Day early by setting every watch and clock in the house and not to mention the car radios and Jesse's pocket watch back 3 hours, so everyone wakes up at 5 a.m. instead of 8a.m.
I would be majorly P.O.'d if he did that to me especially if I had to work in the morning or go to school.
Danny even tells everyone who by btw is already dressed for the day "look on the bright side at least we can get a few more hours sleep"
Who would be able to fall asleep after that, I wouldn't. What are they gonna do put their pajamas back on, sleep in the clothes they'll wear for the day. Yeah, right.
They decide to get Joey back by taping a lottery drawing and getting those winning numbers and then switch out Joey's ticket and make him think he won the BIG jackpot.
For years I didn't understand how this worked until it finally dawned on me, that's right you can pick and play your own numbers, you don't have to be forced to get random ones.
Why this took so long for the lightbulb moment to go off, I'll never know.
This reminds me of a Season 1 moment in Just One Of The Guys when Joey taped a Lakers Basketball Game on TV and made bets with Jesse until Stephanie ruined it by saying "Joey, you didn't know all this stuff when we watched the tape this morning."
This episode was so hilarious and also heartbreaking.
In the end DJ chooses herself but then in Season 8 she dates Nelson who she has zero chemistry with and Viper who I think is too old for her and too much like Season 1 Jesse not to mention I think he's, what 19 and she's 17, I can't see Danny being ok with her dating him.
Also in Season 8 DJ's Choice she also ends things with Viper and Nelson by choosing herself. So what was the point of bringing Nelson and Viper on to the show.
    Have a great week everyone.
I'll be back in April with an episode in honor of Candace Cameron Bure's Birthday.

  • Full House: S7E13: The Perfect Couple (The Break Up Double Feature)
    Hey Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm covering the first episode in The Break Up Double Feature, Full House S7E13: The Perfect Couple, which aired on December 14, 1993.
In this episode Joey has been hired as the host for a test-run of a new game show called The Perfect Couple, which tests couples at different stages in their relationships, to see how well they know each other. DJ and Steve are the "dating couple", Danny and Vicki are the "engaged couple", and Jesse and Rebecca are the "married couple". But as it turns out, the game starts to bring out the worst in all three relationships.
This episode just like the first time I watched it when I was 11, had me in tears again.
I really enjoyed going back through this episode and noticing things I didn't notice before in my previous viewings.
A lot of similar color schemes clothing wise with Stephanie, Michelle and the twins, Alex wearing red, Nicky wearing blue, Michelle wearing red, Stephanie wearing blue and white, also Steve wearing blue and white. I just thought that was funny I didn't notice it till watching this episode for the podcast.
Also the scene where Steve sees DJ in her room getting ready for Joey's game show after the embrace, Scott Weinger (who plays Steve) pulls back and looks down at his feet like he's making sure he's on his mark for the blocking.
I really make my opinion known on how much I dislike Vicki's hair for this episode. It's like a dark brown when we're used to seeing her with auburn red hair. It just makes her hair look like a perm gone wrong.
Joey hosting the game show was giving me major Jim Carrey Fire Marshall Bill from In Living Color vibes what with those fake teeth and stretched out smile. Gah!
Now I will be the first to say as kid I loved Danny's proposal to Vicki and the end of Season 6 at Disney World, I mean who didn't right?
Now as an adult looking back at that and seeing how Danny and Vicki would have never worked out at that point. She was career oriented, she had been she we were first introduced to her on the show in Season 5.
Getting a chance of a lifetime as a news anchor in New York is a big deal, no way she was gonna give that up for settling down with Danny and the family, I mean in Season 5 when she got that job offer in Chicago, she took it. Granted she and Danny were just dating at the time but still. She was a career focused woman.
Honestly, it felt like the writers were just toying with us, the viewers and Danny especially after they got engaged, if they were just going to drop the relationship, what even was the point.
I can see how the marriage supposedly would have wreaked the dynamic of the show since it's supposed to be 3 guys raising three girls, but Danny deserved some happiness.
Thank goodness Fuller House went in a different direction and allowed DJ and Steve to get married.
Join me in two weeks, when I cover the next episode in The Break Up Double Feature, S7E19: Love on the Rocks, which aired on March 1, 1994.
In this episode D.J. tells Becky that she is worried about her relationship with Steve, after Steve goes to a seminar in Los Angeles with his film class.

  • Full House: S6E5: Lovers and Other Tanners (Tanner Girls In Love Series)
    Hey Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm covering the last episode in the Tanner Girls In Love Series with Full House S6E5: Lover s and Other Tanners, which aired on October 20, 1992.
In this episode DJ's responsibilities take a back seat as her relationship with Steve escalates.
This was a fun episode, as it shows how DJ's character is getting older and having her first boyfriend and the first feelings and declaration of love. It's a big deal, especially as teenagers, because at that age EVERYTHING is a big deal.
Sadly due to DJ being on Cloud 9 with Steve, Danny quickly takes notice as her grades start to slip and her responsibilities get put on the back burner.
Jesse and Joey's BIG Radio debut as the Rush Hour Renegades is almost over before it begins when Jesse comes down with a head cold and he overcompensates on the cold pills taking more than the recommended amount (DON'T EVER DO THAT, DO YOU HEAR ME!)which knocks Jesse out for most of the show leaving Joey to talk for two and save their jobs while Jesse is passed out asleep on the couch.
Danny has his own declaration of love with Vicki and is able to see things from DJ's side about being in love as Danny says "I can't believe it, I feel like a teenager again".
And finally, Michelle is the last little Honey Bee of the Tanners to wear the coveted uniform, antennae and stinger included. Honestly I think we get more Honey Bee side storylines with Michelle than we did with Stephanie, granted nothing can top the Sleepover Episode from Season 4.
I hope you all enjoy this episode and have a great weekend!
In March I will be covering the two Break Up Episodes from Season 7.
Full House S7E13: The Perfect Couple, which aired on December 14, 1993.

  • Full House: S4E22: Stephanie Plays The Field (Tanner Girls In Love Series)
    Hey Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm covering the next episode in the Tanner Girls In Love Series with Full House S4E22: Stephanie Plays The Field, which aired on March 8, 1991.
In this episode Stephanie joins a little league baseball team to be near a boy she likes. This is also the last appearance of the character Rusty. Sean Fox plays Brent (Stephanie's crush) who you may recognize from the movie 3 Ninjas Kick Back the sequel to the movie 3 Ninjas, he played Rocky.
I had a crush on him in the mid 90's.
He comes off as a sweet boy but he has ulterior motives after Stephanie joins the little league baseball team he'll be playing against
opening day. He was full on manipulative, writing her initials on his date and asking her to be his girlfriend and then just before he leaves asks her to throw him a few easy pitches, luckily Stephanie catches on that that would be cheating but Brent explains or it could just be a girlfriend helping a boyfriend.
Uh, no. It's cheating, no matter how you word it.
Jesse and Becky are now living in their new attic apartment and are happy to spend some quality time together, however Michelle views Jesse living under the same roof as 24/7 uncle/niece playtime for them. She knows no boundaries. Luckily Jesse and Becky set her straight on appropriate hang out times.
Let's get to the game. We have someone in a bad wig who pitches as Stephanie, Jesse runs out on to the field to have it out with an umpire he felt made a bad call, luckily Danny corrects him, "Jess, I was standing right there, she was out". To which Jesse replies "Why don't you get us better seats, I can't see anything from up there"
I like how Becky tries to pacify Jesse telling him if he is a good boy and stays in his seat she'll buy him a snow cone, to which he replies "I like cherry" as he glares over his shoulder at the umpire.
Joey who's the announcer of the game abuses his free snack privilege's at the concession stand. Towards the end of the game he asks for a hot dog and then as guy puts the hotdog on the table he asks for nachos. I'm like "Joey forget the nachos, eat the hot dog. It's just sitting there getting cold and forgotten.
I love how the concessions guy just shakes his head at Joey when Joey tells him "just bring me whatever's left."
This was such a fun episode. I hope you all enjoy it.
Join me next week for the final episode in the Tanner Girls In Love Series, Full House S6E5: Lovers and Other Tanners, which aired on October 20, 1992.

  • Full House: S8E17: Dateless In San Francisco (Tanner Girls In Love Series/Valentines Day Episode)
    Happy Valentine's Day Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I covered the next episode in the Tanner Girls In Love Series and the last Valentine's Day episode of Full House.
In this episode Michelle gets a boyfriend for Valentine's Day, while Joey gets a secret admirer. When Jesse helps Danny plan an elaborate date with Claire, Rebecca feels neglected.
I thought this was a fun episode, Jesse pretending Valentine's Day wasn't that important to him and constantly referring to he and Becky as an "old married couple". I understand Becky's frustration if it were just Valentine's Day that'd be one thing (although even then still no excuse), but it's their wedding anniversary for crying out loud. I'd be angry if I were her.
Michelle's second boy/girl relationship (Yes, I'm counting Howie from Season 2) crashes and burns as she becomes little miss demanding and Teddy finally having had enough of Michelle's bossiness ends their relationship.
I blame Lisa for that whole mess of having the kids all couple up in class just so she could be with Derek. Also subjecting poor Sophia to Aaron Bailey is, I mean, there's no excuse for that kind of torture.
Oh my gosh Miss or Mrs. Carruthers, don't even get me started on her, she's in need of a major no means no lesson and I think she should be fired for harassment of poor Joey.
If I hadn't seen this episode before, no way would I have guessed who Joey's secret admirer was.
If a secret admirer sent you a gift would you accept it or be suspicious and try to track them down?
Kimmy's got weird fantasies that no teenager girl should ever have and Stephanie's crushing on a guy who complains she's too smart because her bag is loaded down with what he thinks is books (it was actually her rock collection) what a wimp.
Hey dude, you offered to carry her bag, no intellect shaming.
Join me next week for the next episode in the series, Full House S4E22: Stephanie Plays The Field, which aired on March 8, 1991.

  • Full House: S2E16: Baby Love (Tanner Girls In Love Series)
    Hey Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, I'm kicking off the new series Tanner Girls In Love for February in honor of Valentine's Day.
First episode of the series is Full House S2E16: Baby Love, which aired on February 24, 1989.
In this episode Michelle develops a crush on Rebecca's nephew. It's sad that Michelle is two and Howie is the first child her age that she has come in contact with. I can now understand why she developed such a close bond or infatuation with him. Danny really should of had Michelle in a play group before age 2, so she could have had the chance to interact with someone her own age, I mean she's surrounded by older kids and adults all day long, how is she going to develop the social skills and form friendships if she doesn't interact with another little kid?
Maybe if she had, she wouldn't have been so emotionally crushed by Howie leaving, I mean she would still be sad, but it wouldn't have been as devastating for her.
Also Stephanie watches the horror movie The Wolfman (the black and white version)and has trouble sleeping. When I was young I was scared of some movies that weren't actually horror movies, Little Shop Of Horrors, The Burbs, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and The Witches.
But the movie that gave me nightmares for what felt like years was a tv movie called Love, Lies and Murder. I think a lot of it had to do with the actor Clancy Brown, he just looked so frightening.
I got over that once I saw Pet Sematary 2 as a teenager.
Jesse and Rebecca get into a baby name argument. We know going forward that Dustin (Jesse's Pick) and Prescott (Rebecca's Pick) and not the names they choose for their twin sons.
Then again Jesse and Rebecca haven't even been dating for three months yet, what do you think is the appropriate dating time to start naming your future children? 6 Months? A Year?
Join me next week when I cover the next installment in the Tanner Girls In Love Series Full House S8E17: Dateless In San Francisco, which aired on February 14, 1995.

  • Fuller House S3E6 M-M-M-My Ramona (In Honor Of Soni Bringas's (Ramona Gibbler) Birthday)
    Hey Fuller House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, in honor of Soni Bringas's (Ramona Gibbler) birthday, I covered Fuller House S3E6: M-M-M My Ramona, which aired on September 22, 2017.
In this episode when Jackson frets over a bird that flew into a window, DJ gets the feeling that there's another veterinarian in the family. Fernando and Kimmy fight over Ramona and Max freaks when Tommy destroys his stuffed unicorn.
I thought this was a fun and adorable episode. I loved the throwback to Mr. Bear and also Buttercup the Pony (another Full House throwback from Season 2 DJ's Very First Horse, in order to keep Stephanie silent about DJ owning Rocket the horse, DJ lets Stephanie own part of the horse (the tail) which Stephanie names Buttercup).
I loved how Stephanie fixed Max's stuffed animal Uni the Unicorn after baby Tommy destroyed it. I thought that was very sweet.
I loved seeing Jackson working at the pet clinic as a receptionist even though DJ had hoped he would follow down her career path and become a veterinarian, but he rocks at being a receptionist and turns out he knows more about DJ's receptionist Janet than DJ does, like the fact that it was her birthday that day and also that she was married.
I hope you all enjoy this episode!
    Happy Birthday Soni!

  • Fuller House: S3E14: Surrogate City (In Honor Of Adam Hagenbuch's (Jimmy Gibbler) Birthday)
    Hey Fuller House Fans,
Angela Bowen here the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today in honor of Adam Hagenbuch's (Jimmy Gibbler) birthday, I decided to cover Fuller House S3E14: Surrogate City, which aired on December 22, 2017
In this episode Stephanie and Jimmy begin their search for a surrogate. Jackson's rebellion pushes all of D.J.'s buttons.
This was a goofy and also endearing episode.
Goofy in the sense of Jimmy going on Craig's List to look for potential surrogate candidates, as well as dangerous.
It was endearing when Stephanie choose Kimmy to be her and Jimmy's surrogate.
Jackson's rebellious streak was short lived but also provided a good lesson with just being yourself and not trying to change to impress someone you like. I loved his blue hair though, that was cool.
I totally forgot how expensive school picture day is, as more as a student and not as a parent. I think just for a picture package for one - 8x10, two 5x7's and 8 wallets is was like $35 or more also depending on the background, which is what we usually got for me.
We didn't have options for mousepads (didn't own a computer), coffee mugs or oven mitts back in the 90's.
I remember when my Grandma went with me to pick out my senior pictures I took and explained to the photographer how we didn't need many wallet sized pictures because I didn't have a lot of friends.
    Talk about embarrassing.
I really liked Ramona's family tree project but I feel we didn't get the closure on it like I wanted.
Have a great weekend everyone and please continue to stay safe.

  • Full House: S2E10: Middle Age Crazy (In Honor Of Jodie Sweetin's (Stephanie Tanner) Birthday)
    Hey Full House Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today, in honor of Jodie Sweetin's birthday (Stephanie Tanner) I decided to cover Full House S2E10: Middle Age Crazy, which aired on January 6, 1989.
In this episode Steph gets a crazy feeling of being 'middle' aged as her two sisters run with all the attention. A garden wedding with Harry as groom.
This was such a cute episode. I felt bad for Steph, she wasn't asking for the world, she was just asking for someone to watch her break the hula hoop record, now, how much time could that have taken to watch, maybe 5 minutes?
You're telling me no one in that house has has five minutes of time to spare?
DJ really aggravated me with her Egg Drop Project, she expected Jesse and Joey who were under a deadline by the way to drop everything and help her with a school assignment that she put off for almost a month.
The real DJ we'll come to know going forward in the series would NOT EVER let something go that long without getting done when it comes to school.
Don't even get me started on Danny and the video camera. I find it hard to believe the viewers of Wake Up San Francisco are going to want to watch the IMO most uncute moments of Michelle Tanner, what with Danny's herky jerky camera movements, people would be changing the channel quicker than the audiences that ran out of The Blair Witch Project in 1999 heading for the nearest bathroom. (that's why I walked out, motion sickness).
Stephanie has the cutest wedding in the backyard and Harry makes an adorable groom, I love how Jimmy (the minister) gets the words wrong when he's officiating the ceremony. And the stick on tattoo of Scooby Doo the icing on the cake. (Spoiler Alert! there was no cake)
Interesting how this is foreshadowing what's to come in the future. Backyard weddings are the best!
I speak from experience of course.
I hope you all enjoy this episode as I have a fun time reviewing it.
Join me in February when I kick off the new series Tanner Girls In Love with the episode Full House S2E16 Baby Love, which aired on February 24, 1989.
