Joining us on the podcast today is Equity Research Analyst Thomas Goldthorpe, to discuss higher commodity prices, global energy market trends, and the energy transition themes he sees heading into the summer. From a commodities perspective, Thomas explains to host Pamela Ritchie that the big picture remains the Fed’s attempt to lower inflation. Lower economic activity, and by extension lower energy demand, is a potential headwind over the next few years that he says investors must be aware of. Turning to natural gas markets, Thomas says that an increase in supply over the last six months has led to a depression of natural gas prices, but that increases are expected in both 2024 and 2025.
