When people think of elk hunting, Oklahoma is probably not the first place that comes to mind. In fact, most people probably don't even know that elk can be found, much less hunted, in Oklahoma. Mark Meador is one of the lucky few that got to chase elk in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in south west Oklahoma during the 2021 season. This week he comes on the Oklahoma Outdoors podcast to talk about his amazing experience. Mark and John cover everything from drawing the tag, the prep work and gear selection before hand, and of course the hunt itself. Mark is blown away by the beauty of the landscape and of course the abundance of game he was lucky enough to hunt. This is not an episode to skip!

Day leases are the topic this week on the Oklahoma Outdoors podcast. Logan Rust is a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma and founder of Roam Outdoors. Logans passion for waterfowl hunting and frustration with gaining access led him to start a company that brings landowners and hunters together. Whether you are chasing dove, ducks, or deer, there is something for everyone at Roam outdoors. Not only is it a site for hunters to find a place to pursue their passion, it is a place for landowners to make some extra cash off of their property doing absolutely nothing!
