Gloria Otis and Shawna Hight created the Tulsa Ladies of Pickleball group. The ladies tell us why the popularity of Pickleball is soaring and how their group is bringing women together. The group was created to promote the game, but also to create a safe space for women who need support.

Julie Lynn was one of the first women with the Tulsa Fire Department and has worked her way up to Deputy Chief. She shares what it's like living at the station with so many men, and the changes she's seen happen over the last two decades.

Women voters are surpassing male voters in Oklahoma. Jenni Gray, President of the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa talks about voting trends and the 100th anniversary of suffrage. Gray says the League is also involved in changing policy and fighting for criminal reform for women. Actress Tami Erin became an inspiration to little girls around the world as the zany and adventurous Pippi Longstocking and she is still empowering women today. Erin beat out about 8,000 other girls to become Pippi. Erin talks about how she came to be an Okie, settling down at Grand Lake. Erin also talks about her struggles with a scandal that rocked her world and how she came out on top.

Our state has a very large veteran population and unfortunately, therapists say they see a lot of seasonal depression as veterans who battle with loneliness move into this family-driven holiday season. Oklahoma is ranked 7th in the state in high suicide rates, making Oklahoma’s veterans even more likely to lose their lives.
