FROM CHEF ACADEMY TO THE SHARK TANKSTEVEN KITCHEN is the Executive Chef and right-hand to world renowned Michelin and 5AA Rosette award-winning Chef, Jean Christophe Novelli at his Cookery School, outside of London, UK. The talented chef has worked in a number of top hotels and restaurants over his career, including in the position of head chef in the four-star Stanneylands Hotel, where he picked up the award for Life magazine’s Restaurant of the Year, as well as winner of the most outstanding menu of the year by the Food and Wine Society.
Most recently he appeared on BRAVO television network's "Chef Academy," an eight-week series that brought the cookery school to Los Angeles, with ten students working through various culinary challenges to complete the training and graduate.
DORENE HUMASON known as The Chef in Black, got her "aha moment" during the end of a grueling 14-hour day in retail food sales, realizing she wanted to do what she loved and control her destiny. Her epiphany involved something she often craved but couldn’t easily find. “I was drawn to the idea of making a one-of-a-kind salad dressing,” she explains. “It had to be a Chinese salad dressing and marinade that tasted exactly like what you might eat in a restaurant. It also had to be all-natural, fresh, versatile and, of course, delicious.”
Dorene will talk about her journey and her appearance on a recent "Shark Tank" on ABC, where she did, indeed, get the money she sought from the sharks.
