  • EP025_EN_Elpis – Is hope truly a good thing?

“59 Elpis” is a main-belt asteroid. In Greek mythology, Elpis is the personification of hope. Associated with the myth of Pandora, it is what remains when all evils spread into the world, becoming a symbol of the fact that human beings, despite everything, continue to hope. It therefore embodies: the ability to look to the future with confidence, resilience in the face of difficulties, and the idea that even within evil there is something that cannot be lost.

In our fragile daily lives, however, hope is ambiguous. It is both a support for staying resilient and a deceptive illusion. The greatest difficulty probably lies in the concrete application of hope:

    - when it generates energy, endurance through hardship, and acceptance of uncertainty, it becomes helpful for living better;

    - when it creates waiting, inertia, lack of initiative, or illusion, it drags us into the abyss…

Hope is neutral—it is neither good nor bad… it depends on how it is put into practice.

  • EP024_EN_Pomona – Maintaining perseverance to achieve your goals

“32 Pomona” is an asteroid in the main belt. In mythology, Pomona was the Roman goddess of fruits and gardens. She devoted herself diligently to tending her orchard and garden, until the god Vertumnus, through various transformations, managed to win her over. Pomona is not the goddess of wild nature, but of nature that is ordered and carefully cultivated. She represents a strong work ethic, a sense of duty, and the patient care of results—values that today are often replaced by opportunism and the tendency to give up easily.

  • EP023_EN_Callisto and Arcas – Following a mentor, and then becoming one yourself

Callisto is one of Jupiter’s moons. In Greek mythology, Callisto was a nymph and a follower of the goddess Artemis, who required her companions to remain chaste. When she was seduced by Zeus, she was punished by being transformed into a bear. She gave birth to her son Arcas, who, once grown and unaware of his mother’s identity, became a hunter. As he was about to kill her, both were transformed into the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Callistoand Arcas become constellations because their story marked by a lack of guidance—is turned into a universal symbol: from victims of a life without direction, they become points of reference for humanity. In everyday life, the most valuable guide is a mentor—someone experienced, wise, and willing to guide and support others by example. The goal, at some point, is to become a mentor ourselves.

  • EP022_EN_Pollux – Sharing that multiplies success

Pollux is a bright star, paired with the fainter star Castor, in the constellation Gemini. Pollux was the son of Zeus (while his brother Castor was the son of the King of Sparta); Pollux was immortal and incredibly brave, while Castor was mortal and highly skilled in warfare. When Castor was killed, Pollux refused to accept immortality without his brother. Moved by compassion, Zeus granted them the sharing of immortality, transforming them both into stars. This is an example of how, by sharing something of our own (resources, values, talents, time, etc.), it can be multiplied. It inspires us to reflect on what truly matters and how it becomes easier to succeed in life together, because through sharing, the potential for success is multiplied.

  • EP021_EN_Deimos – How to learn to control your fears

Deimos is one of Mars’ two moons. It is named after Deimos, son of the god Ares and the personification of “terror.” Deimos was a presence on the battlefield, accompanying his brother to spread fear and terror among soldiers. He represents pure terror—the force that paralyzes us and robs us of our ability to react when major unexpected events and tragedies occur in life. Deimos can even drain us completely, stripping away our strength and will. Within us, through our motivations and with the support of loyal companions, we have the power to control terror, to respond and stand up to it; lifting our heads and moving forward in life, renewed and strengthened.
