Of all the things we can do in our lives, FOCUSING ON JESUS is most important.

Jesus isn't about lots and lots of rules.  He's the ONE who loves us MOST and wants what is BEST for us all day every day.

But sometimes we struggle with that.  We can drift away from church.  We can become bitter because of bad experiences with churches or other Christians.  We think we know what's better.  We can be stubborn.

One way we can help one another to stay connected with JESUS is to learn how to and be ready to share our stories of how Jesus intersected our lives.  And actually, how He CONTINUES to give us GRACE and empower us through His SPIRIT to live our lives focused on Him.

A real relationship with God isn't about the rules as much as it is about our every continuing and growing RELATIONSHIP with Him.

Sometimes we can place an unhealthy performance standard on ourselves or other people in our lives may try to do that to us as well.  But God, the Father, loves us as His children who are trusting in Jesus, just as we are.  

And there are always greater depths, greater heights, and more understanding of WHO GOD IS in our lives as we walk with Jesus and other followers.  Joyce, Dwight, and Ryan discuss our performance, God's Heart for us, troubles, challenges, and keeping on Growing with JESUS in today's podcast.

Just because someone looks good on the outside doesn't mean that they have a relationship with God or have God's NEW LIFE living in them.

Jesus told Nicodemus that, "You must be born again or he wouldn't see the Kingdom of God!"  So what does it mean to have NEW LIFE given to you by God and what does that look like in real life in 2022?

Do I have to totally surrender everything to Jesus?  Does it mean that I can manipulate God to do what I want Him to do for me in this physical world?  What is the relationship between this physical world and God's eternal Kingdom?  And why is faith essential to have eternal life?

Is life transformation actually possible?  Can people really change?
The answers to those questions are YES and YES.

"Good Teacher, What must I DO to inherit Eternal Life?"  Wow.  What a question!
How can doing GOOD be a problem for us to truly inherit eternal life?

Sometimes things we own end up OWNING US.

And truthfully, none of us can live the life that's required to receive eternal life as a reward.  So how can we inherit eternal life?  It has everything to do with Jesus.  Knowing Him by faith and walking WITH HIM through our life.

One of the greatest moments of life is when we MEET JESUS!  Knowing Jesus absolutely changes EVERYTHING!

Anna, Garrick, and Ryan talk about one woman met Jesus and He not only changed her life, but the lives of almost EVERYONE in her village.

There is so much to learn in developing a greater love for people and sharing the Gospel, learning how to listen, dealing with sin without condemning people.

We need to keep growing to share the Gospel, love people, and allow our relationship with Jesus to keep changing our lives.  Praying the podcast begins to help us all keep taking steps with Jesus!

It's easy to get into a rut.  It's easy to get stuck living the same old same old.
SO...when was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone to serve?

And why is stepping out to serve God and show His love to others so good?

Does it really matter if a church is led by a team of leaders that are called by God, identified as men with godly character, serving as a team, with people they know well, and are leading by example?

YES!  IT REALLY MATTERS!  This is why God lays out His Leadership Plan for His church through Elders who  lead His Church by PRAYING, teaching God's Word, shepherding, protecting, and overseeing GOD'S FLOCK (1 Tim. 3, Titus 1, Acts 20:28, 1 Pet. 5:1-4).

How do you know if you are called to be an Elder?  What do Elders DO?  What should Elders NOT DO?  What should our response be to our church Elders?

It's good to take a RE-FRESHING LOOK at the DIRECTION we believe that God is leading us as His Body.

Without time spent refocusing on our Vision we can drift.  We can become cold.  We can realize that we need to be RE-IGNITED in our relationship WITH JESUS.

But how is God leading us to RE-IGNITE?  Through PRAYER.  Through Preaching (actively engaging in God's Word.  And through MAKING TIME to engage with PEOPLE who also want to RE-IGNITE their passion for Jesus, too!

Joel and Ryan take a look at why engaging in a focused and intentional way in prayer, God's Word, and relationships with people can really help us make progress in God's MISSION to make disciples of ALL NATIONS.  

The Great Commission starts in our neighborhoods and reaches to the nations.  Listen in and ask for God to RE-IGNITE YOU as you follow Jesus with His Church!

How often are you connecting with the Church?
You know: Engaging in Worship Together?  Actively participating in a Life Group with a few other people?  And finding a place to SERVE together with others using your spiritual gift(s) to build up the body?

During this season of life, we may have slipped away from CONSISTENTLY CONNECTING with Christ's Church...with our BROTHERS AND SISTERS....with God's Family.

This is a dangerous development, which should bring us to perform PRIORITY CHECK to see how we're investing our time, talents, and treasures.

If the ETERNAL IMPORTANCE of MAKING DISCIPLES by living on mission for Jesus isn't the main part of our weekly life...what is?  And should we trim our schedules to make sure that what God reveals as important in Scripture is also important in our lives as well?
