On The Bench: An FSU football podcast network

What a wild weekend it was for Florida State. The Seminoles fended off an aggressive pursuit of Darrell Jackson (and others) from Miami and retained premier edge defender Jared Verse.

OTB gets into the weeds of both developments in this episode, plus details the recruitments of some other transfer prospects...including a kicker commitment!

Florida State ended 2022 in style, with a fun 35-32 win over Oklahoma. And it started 2023 with a bang, retaining standout defensive tackle Fabien Lovett while landing a commitment from elite cornerback transfer Fentrell ‘Deuce’ Cypress.

This episode of On The Bench is sizable, going over the return of Lovett and the addition of Cypress. But first we dive into the bowl win, FSU’s remarkable culture, and dive into a nuanced discussion on both the defense under Adam Fuller and the Transfer Portal.

Oh, we also play some Buy or Sonnone (thanks to The Turner Group!!!) and drop some intel on a few remaining portal targets.

Florida State rebounded after a tough loss, Keldric Faulk, on the first day of the Early Signing Period with a big addition in safety Conrad Hussey. This was a statement for the Seminoles, no doubt.

On The Bench breaks down the Hussey addition and provides the latest intel on priority transfers Braden Fiske and Fentrell Cypress…only to get news of Fiske’s commitment to FSU mid-episode.

Florida State held onto Hykeem Williams despite a last-minute push from Colorado's Deion Sanders and Miami's Mario Cristobal. It lost Keldric Faulk to Auburn. Conrad Hussey's recruitment is still in the air.

The first day of the Early Signing Period was hectic and drama-filled for FSU. Some good, some bad. OTB's Zach Blostein, Trey Rowland and Coach AB have the perspective on what happened, and they're joined by friend of the show Ingram Smith to recap the day.

The information is coming fast and furiously as Florida State is trying to close on the majority of its 2023 recruiting cycle on the eve of the start of the Early Signing Period. Recruitments are changing hourly and things are getting…interesting?

Fun for some, anxiety-provoking for others.
