What does it look like to finish strong? In Nehemiah 3, we see a group of ordinary people come together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. They weren't professional builders. They were priests, leaders, merchants, craftsmen, families, and everyday people who each chose to do their part. Some went above and beyond, while others refused to participate because they felt the work was beneath them. In this message from the Finish Strong series, we look at what Nehemiah 3 teaches us about serving, leadership, generosity, faith in action, and the importance of being part of a community. The wall was more than a physical structure. As each person worked next to the next, the work itself became "community mortar." What they were building physically was also building them spiritually. This message challenges us to ask some important questions: Are we willing to do our part? Are we willing to serve when the work isn't glamorous? Are we willing to go above and beyond when God calls us to? In this powerful message, Pastor Brady Black explores what it means to function as the Body of Christ and why every person has a unique and indispensable role in God’s Kingdom. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 12, we are reminded that the church is made up of many different parts, but we are all one body, working together toward the same goal: Jesus. Through a football illustration, Pastor Brady shows how something as simple as catching a ball requires the entire body to work together. In the same way, the church needs every person to be activated, aligned, and willing to play their part. This message challenges us to confront two major hurdles: “How can God use me?” and “How can God use them?” Your value isn’t determined by your visibility, position, experience, age, or recognition. What may seem insignificant or unseen can be indispensable in the Kingdom of God.
