What does it look like to build a strong, healthy, Christ-centered community? In this message, Greg Ford explores what the Bible teaches about strengthening the communities we are part of, both inside the church and in our everyday lives. Looking at the New Testament and the cultural world of the first century, Greg unpacks the difference between transactional relationships and the kind of deep, loving community Jesus calls His followers to build. A healthy Christian community is more than simply gathering in the same place. It is a community where people support one another, stay connected, celebrate one another, walk through difficult seasons together, and create space for healing. Greg walks through three important characteristics of a healthy, Christ-centered community: • Support: We carry one another’s burdens while also taking responsibility for our own lives. Galatians 6 shows us that both are necessary for a healthy community. • Connection: God did not create us for isolation. Jesus teaches that the way people recognize His followers is through the way we love one another. The quality of our relationships can become one of our greatest witnesses to the world. • Healing: Healthy community creates a safe place for vulnerability, prayer, confession, and restoration. James 5 reminds us that healing happens within relationships where people can bring what is broken into the light. Greg also challenges us to consider whether we are willing to go deeper in our relationships instead of constantly looking for an escape whenever things get difficult. As our world becomes increasingly connected technologically, genuine community can still be difficult to find. The church is called to be different: a people who love, support, honor, and walk with one another. Whether you're looking for Christian community, struggling with loneliness, trying to find connection at church, walking through a difficult season, or simply wanting to grow deeper in your relationships, this message offers a biblical vision for what healthy community can look like. Watch the full message and consider where God may be calling you to receive support, build deeper connections, or become a source of healing and support for someone else. Strengthening Our Community | Pastor Greg Ford Sermon | One Church Columbus

What does it look like to finish strong? In Nehemiah 3, we see a group of ordinary people come together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. They weren't professional builders. They were priests, leaders, merchants, craftsmen, families, and everyday people who each chose to do their part. Some went above and beyond, while others refused to participate because they felt the work was beneath them. In this message from the Finish Strong series, we look at what Nehemiah 3 teaches us about serving, leadership, generosity, faith in action, and the importance of being part of a community. The wall was more than a physical structure. As each person worked next to the next, the work itself became "community mortar." What they were building physically was also building them spiritually. This message challenges us to ask some important questions: Are we willing to do our part? Are we willing to serve when the work isn't glamorous? Are we willing to go above and beyond when God calls us to? And are we allowing God to use the tangible things we have, including our time, resources, gifts, and abilities, to accomplish something bigger than ourselves? How Is A Community Built | Pastor Greg Ford Sermon | One Church Columbus

What does hand-eye coordination have to do with following Jesus? In this powerful message, Pastor Brady Black explores what it means to function as the Body of Christ and why every person has a unique and indispensable role in God’s Kingdom. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 12, we are reminded that the church is made up of many different parts, but we are all one body, working together toward the same goal: Jesus. Through a football illustration, Pastor Brady shows how something as simple as catching a ball requires the entire body to work together. In the same way, the church needs every person to be activated, aligned, and willing to play their part. This message challenges us to confront two major hurdles: “How can God use me?” and “How can God use them?” Your value isn’t determined by your visibility, position, experience, age, or recognition. What may seem insignificant or unseen can be indispensable in the Kingdom of God. God has intentionally placed gifts, purpose, and value within each of us, and He wants to use us both inside and outside the church. Pastor Brady also challenges us to rethink how we view the next generation. Instead of pushing young people to the sidelines until they are older or more experienced, we can make room for them to lead, serve, grow, and be used by God right now. At the same time, the next generation needs adults who will mentor them, encourage them, and help them cross the finish line God has placed before them. Finally, we are reminded of what it means to be a healthy Body of Christ. When one person suffers, we all suffer. When one person is honored, we all rejoice. We are called to notice people, care for one another, carry one another’s burdens, and activate our faith by stepping into the needs around us. Key Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:12-25 1 Timothy 4:12 In this message: • The Body of Christ and unity • Finding your value in God’s Kingdom • Why visibility doesn’t determine value • Discovering how God can use you • Serving and activating your gifts • The importance of every person in the church • Empowering the next generation • Mentoring and investing in young people • Caring for people who are hurting • Living as a healthy Body of Christ • Alignment, collaboration, and shared purpose • Following Jesus beyond the walls of the church Whether you feel overlooked, unqualified, unseen, or unsure of how God could use you, this message is a reminder that you are valuable, you have a part to play, and the Body of Christ needs you.
