One Life Left

Welcome to another episode of One Life Left, dearest listeners! This week we have Devolver delays, PS2 sells loads, Xbox fight Google, Slow Game Club and the Lego Bond we nearly got!!! Meanwhile should we be worried that Ste is seeing both his doctor and his dentist in the same week?!

Don't forget that Maraoke will be LIVE on the Jingle Jam stream on Twitch on Saturday 7th December at 5pm AND tickets are still available for the Maraoke Xmas Party on Friday 13th December at Loading Bar, Stoke Newington High Street: https://maraoke.com/xmas2024

There's only two more OLLs before Xmas!! Forget Santa and send us your Christmas letters instead! Your hopes and fears for the future (of gaming) and what you'd like to get if you're on the nice list can be fired to us at [email protected]. Or join our Discord and leave some yuletide cheer there. This week there are flimsy cards, Simon turns 53, Sony attempt another handheld and shadows are important! There's also undercover "journalism" as Ste goes all Cook Report and stalks/hounds/illegally records/chats to (delete as appropriate) Keith Stuart at GaMaYo! Which is also where we had a great time and heard A codename for the Switch 2! But was it the correct codename?! Only time will tell...

Meanwhile Maraoke will be hitting the Jingle Jam stream on December 7th and don't forget the Maraoke Xmas Party which is on Friday 13th December at Loading Bar, Stoke Newington High St. Tickets are available NOW: https://maraoke.com/xmas2024

Before you ask - no, this is not an Xbox (Hi, Microsoft! Thought you might appreciate us playing along with your latest PR campaign! Send any payments/Xbox goodies to us via the usual email, OK? Ta!)

This week, dearest of listeners, we have Overcooked! revelations, Xbox do marketing (see above), Nintendo patrol the high seas for pirates (ah harr!), game "awards" and starter packs? Starter packs!! Yes please!

Meanwhile, why on earth is Simon's wife sending photos to Ste?!? Listen to find out!!

The Maraoke Xmas Party (Friday 13th December at Loading Bar, Stoke Newington High St) tickets are available NOW from here: https://maraoke.com/xmas2024

This week we ask the BIG questions: Who is following us on Bluesky? What is a turnip driver? Is a disk drive a dongle?? We also discover AI's weakness, Netflix kill off their interactive shows, the Borderlands movie never happened, Ste shoots all the time in everyday life, Simon has "beef" with "the man" and what exactly is all this UKIE shenanigans, anyway?!

We also talk about upcoming appearances at GaMaYo (Thursday 21st November in Wakefield) and the Maraoke Xmas Party (Friday 13th December)!

Can you fix an extractor fan? Do you know anything about the Switch 2? Let us know (or not) at [email protected]. Or join our Discord and drop us a letter on there there. Link below!

WARNING: This show contains a brief mention of private body parts that Ste probably still hasn't heard! Shocking! It's OK, though, coz it's related to something glow-in-the-dark that was bought in Blackpool! Oo-er!

ANYWAY! SSG klaxon ahoy! This week we are joined by Paul Monaghan who recently interviewed Simon as part of his amazing work collecting games magazine journos and telling their stories whilst not sharing any gossip! From Googling how to spell his name correctly I also suspect he's from the same part of the world as I am so that makes him even more of a top chap, obviously!

Meanwhile, we also have Nintendo inventing music, Charlesbot pretending he needs more practice at reading the news and Nvidia being bigger than anything! Ste and Simon also go on a world tour to hunt down dodgy/knock-off/pirated videogames for you, dear listener! (Does that make the holidays OLL expenses...?)

If you're reading this nonsense and it's not yet Friday 8th November, we have a FREE Maraoke event at Loading in Stoke Newington. On Friday 8th November. Get your tickets HERE!

How much plastic tat do you own? Have you met a Disney princess? Do you know what happened at Edge?? Tell us everything at [email protected]. Or join our Discord and spread lots of gossip there. Link below!

Isn't it horrible when someone leaves you out of something? Well, dear listeners, this week we discover how a veteran Edge writer has been left out of a new periodical written by veteran Edge writers!!! The injustice!! We also have Charlesbot evolving into something that swears and says "aaah" a lot, the "console arms race" has levelled out and it's Tetris aaaaaaall the way down. Tetris! Plus much more...

Meanwhile we have another Maraoke event coming up and this time it's FREE! Friday 8th November at Loading in Stoke Newington. Get your tickets HERE!

Like Pac-Man gobbling up those questionable pills, we devour your letters and need MORE OF THEM!!! Feed us letters so we can temporarily defeat the ghosts that constantly haunt us each and every day!!! You might even win a game or something. Send your letters to us at [email protected]. Or join our Discord and send a letter to us on there whilst also joining a UKIE subcommittee. Link below!

Hello! Welcome to another episode of One Life Left - the podcast version of the video game radio show that is now "officially" old enough to buy alcohol (in the UK, anyway).

This week we have more licence "owning" shenanigans, speculate over top secrets at Nintendo (who have also just invented the alarm clock), Konami get cosy with FIFA, Ste had general anaesthetic AND created a bot while Simon had a board meeting.

LETTERS! LETTERS?? LETTERS!!! We love 'em! We want MORE of 'em! PLEASE!? Send your letters to us at [email protected]. Or join our Discord and send a letter to us on there. Link below!

This week Field Commander Byron starts a war against TIGA (maybe), Ubisoft shares take a nosedive and Nintendo sues on the Daly, amongst many other things, gaming and non-gaming related. Meanwhile I run out of time to write what I wanted to write but, trust me, it was going to be amazing!

Meanwhile Field Commander Byron went to Spain and Ste continued work apace on the OLL game now known as "Make Diamonds"!

Don't forget there's another Maraoke coming up this Friday (4th October) at Loading Stoke Newington! Grab your tickets quickly HERE!
