When you can't turn back, the only option left is to move forward. It is important to remember that you're never at the mercy of our circumstances. You always have a choice. You have a choice to say yes or no, to continue or change course. Fear can be stifling, preventing you from taking the necessary next steps in relationship/business/life. However, once you recognize that it is only fear holding you back and you take action despite it, the world opens up to you.
Pursuing success at the cost of your wellbeing is the ultimate failure. When you're in the trenches, it is very difficult to pop your head above ground. If you could, you'd likely realize the battle is over and that you're at war with yourself. Imagine stepping out of the "rat race". If you didn't have to compete, how would your experience of life change? With an extra couple of hours in your day, who would you spend time with? What would you build?
So many people make their happiness and well being conditional, saying, "I'll do this when..." I find great fault in this approach. It is like telling your dog you refuse to feed it, until it learns to give you its paw and roll over. You wouldn't do that in a million years... Then why do you do it to yourself? By allowing ourselves to do the things we know will bring joy into our lives, we invite even more great things to make their way. Let's not forget the simple fact that not a single one of us knows what tomorrow will bring, so why wait?
Are you striving to achieve a result, but find yourself hitting a wall, unable to make any progress? What if I told you that the best way to break through that wall, was to relax into it? Focusing too hard on an outcome can have the opposite effect, preventing you from seeing the path that would otherwise seem obvious. Releasing your resistance also makes the process more enjoyable and who doesn't want to enjoy more of life?
In order to achieve any worthwhile goal, you must step beyond our current comfort zone. The easiest way to make these strides, without it being terrifying, is to break the journey down into small do-able steps. Doing so builds our confidence and compounds the results, as we move closer and closer to our end goal. Regardless of how insignificant the step is, it is still a step forward and a progression in your desire.
What is the source of confidence? When asked by a friend how I was able to show up consistently, week after week, to record this podcast, I had really break down my motivations for creating. While our reasons may differ, the framework for confidence is the same from person to person. I believe that the source of confidence lies in the art of doing. In this podcast we'll break down the steps, so that you can identify and action the goal your seeking confidence on.
As social creatures, the desire to belong is embedded deep within our psyche. As a result we adopt (most of the time unconsciously) the behaviors, beliefs, and goals of those around us. Look at your life as it stands now. Which areas have you consciously designed? Which have you taken on by default. In this podcast I show how breaking through the internal conflict and following your heart is the only way to move forward and claim your One Life.
At our very core we are makers of meaning. Conscious or not, we apply meaning to all the events of our life, as well as, to words. Each word carries its own energetic vibration, given to it by you, the creator of your own life. Why does this matter? Because words are the core of our identity, they are what we use to describe ourselves and our aspirations. This can cause internal conflict, as you avoid stepping into a role which goes against how you identify yourself. Once you're aware of these trigger words and the self imposed meaning, you now possess the power to influence and change your life.
Do you wake up in anticipation at the day ahead or are you anxious, living in reaction? If the latter, then it is very likely that you're putting other people's demands above of your own needs. A life worth living, is a life worth planning. Carving out time for yourself to plan the day ahead (the evening before), is one of the greatest acts of self love you can give yourself. It sets the stakes in the ground, by identifying how you want to live and that which is important to you.
Self comparison is the fasting spreading pandemic today, effecting everything from your self confidence to your health and happiness. While it may appear that others are making massive strides, leaving you in the dust, I'd like to offer you a different perspective. What if you were exactly where you needed to be at this point in your journey? Your journey is independent of everyone else, for the reason that no two experiences are the same and no two people start the place. Understanding this truth will erase comparison, release tension, and restore faith.
