Paul Samuel Dolman is the friend you just met, but have known your entire life. Paul reminds us that you don't need anyone's permission to live the life you love. Only your own. In this episode Paul accounts his own journey from being a musician to getting picked up by Larry David while hitchhiking and writing a book about it. His message is simple. Trust life. Stop the distractions, quiet your mind, and listen to your heart, for this is the path of least resistance. You don't have to know the end destination, just the next step. Paul is the author of Hitchhiking with Larry David, Seven Crazy Days on Maui, as well as many others. He is also the host of the What Matters Most podcast, where he fuels his passion for people and helping others in self realization.
Most people live their entire lives "blind" to the forces controlling it. Isaac Lidsky did, that is until he lost his eyesight. Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at the age of 13, Isaac was completely blind by the time he turned 25. What at first seemed like a death sentence, would up being one life's greatest gifts. Going blind gave him the ability to see his life "Eyes Wide Open". What if if your setbacks were actually opportunities? What if the limiting thoughts you held about yourself were just fabrications of your mind? What happiness was a choice? Answers to this and more in my interview with New York Times best selling author of the book Eyes Wide Open, Isaac Lidsky.

When we want to get out of pain, we must first find the dysfunction causing it. In a phone call with my good friend Sadiq, we spoke about pain in the body and the habitual patterns as a result of it. He said, "pain is the body is an alarm to notify us that we're doing something wrong." This could be sitting for a too long, resulting in pain in our back/hips or a particular way we're working out. Listening, I thought to myself, isn't this true of the emotional pain as well? A lot of the time we want to change circumstances in our lives, but fail to recognize the dysfunction, that is, the part of ourselves that is complicit with it. Think about a change you want to bring in your own life. In what ways are you complicit? In what ways do you benefit form this situation not changing? Hint: If we're experiencing something that we want to change, but haven't yet, it is because we benefit in some way. Enjoy this episode and God bless!
We've been programmed to think that once we land that job, buy that house, take that trip, that life will be perfect... We seek externals for validation, when the truth is that we don't need object or anyone's permission to be happy now. This moment is all we need. Surely you know people who have little and are happy. Conversely, you know people who are well off, but miserable. It isn't to say that wealth creates happy or unhappiness, but rather that it doesn't make a difference. A happy person will also find a reason to be happy and an angry person will always find a way to be angry. We don't have to wait to feel any emotion. We can feel it now by granting ourselves permission. Remember, you are enough, you've always been enough, and will always be enough...

I remember hearing Tony Robbins say that, "most people over estimate what they can accomplish in a day and underestimate what they can get done in a year". The reason is that when we think of change, we thing it has to be big and all at once. It's like going to an all you can eat buffet and trying to fill your plate with everything on your first pass. You forget that you try everything and go up as many times as you'd like. This is true of life. We look at a goal. take strides to obtain it, but give up because we've taken on more than we can handle. Success starts small and speeds up with the power of compounding returns. Let's instead aim to be .5% better each day and what what we become...

What if you could take any lemon that life threw at you and simply squeeze it into lemonade? Doing so starts with the core belief that life is happening for your and that there is no meaning to an event, other than the meaning you give it. Take a moment and let that sink in... If there is no meaning other than the meaning we give an event, then what is the event? Nothing, but feedback. When an event unfolds, our meaning maker (mind) kicks in. This mind is programmed by past events and as a result, will only give you more of those same event, because it is looking from a distorted lens. The key is to take each event and to ask a different question. "What else could this mean?" After reviewing all the possibilities and the facts of the situation, you likely find that the initial meaning you were assigning isn't the best at all... Pick the more empowering and watch as life gets sweet!

One of the most powerful influences in our lives is that of our environment. It has the power to shape our income, impact our health, and even form our identity. The reason is primal. We conform to the believes, values, and world views of others in an effort to be accepted by the group. This is not the way to a happy and fulfilling life... This paradigm doesn't favor one race, social class, or group. If we want a better life, we must become aware of the influence of those surrounding us. Only the can we make the conscious decision to distance ourselves or in some cases, cut them out completely from our lives.

The biggest problem I have with manifesting is that few people follow up with action. In order for any "intention" to materialize, you must take imperfect action towards it. I say this because I was that person, for while a while... Truth be told, the initial action you take is likely going to be wrong, but do you know what happens as a result of that intentional, but "wrong" action? You get experiences. You make "tweeks"and follow up with a new action. This fine turning is what eventually gets us to our end destination. Sure, you can visualize and feel all warm in fuzzy inside. This is VERY, VERY important, but it MUST be followed up with action. Doing so brings new opportunities, because the only way to create our new reality is to be active in life and to do something different. Is there an outcome you want in your life, but haven't taken any action towards it? What results have you gotten? What imperfect action can you take today that would move you closer to your end result? Go do it!

What is real wealth? If you're like most people, you'll probably rattled off some absurdly high nominal value, but is that true? In this week's podcast Rolf challenges us to think differently about wealth, filtering it through the lens of travel, experience, and relationships.
We live in a world where we've hypnotized ourselves into thinking "there is never enough time". What we fail to realize is that time is the one thing we are all given equally and that every moment of our lives is a transaction, with time as the currency.
"Work, sleep, repeat... You'll enjoy life once you retire." Like so many people before him, Rolf almost bought into this belief, that is until he watched his retired grandfather care of his grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. It was at this point he would make a new decision on what real wealth was and how he would spend his time.
