Ever get stuck in indecision, unsure of which action to take? What if I told you that regardless of the action, the one you choose it's the right action. How could this be? The reason it is so, is because the moment we decide, we create forward momentum. Right or wrong, the one thing decisive action gives us is contrast. "Do I like where this has taken me or do I want to change?" This contrast is like a cybernetic device, allowing you to fine tune the next action going forward. The process repeats itself, providing even more clarity, until you reach your final destination, your end goal. How would adopting this concept impact the way you lived life?
What if you can have everything you desire without the struggle? I believe that very often we set goals for our life, while also adopting a rigid framework as to how to get it. The problem having preconceived notion as to how things need to unfold, is that it doesn't allow us to see the shortcuts that will get us there faster. It's important to note that the path of least resistance that first presents itself, isn't necessarily the correct path. There are times in our life where we'll have to setup framework in order for this to work and others, where we're called to abandon everything we know, surrendering to the forces that want to bring us to our desires with ease. Either way, the end result is one of flow and progress. What is one thing in your life that you've been resisting? What would happen if you gave into that resistance?
How does it feel when you receive a heart felt compliment from someone? Good doesn't it? Now imagine how they feel as a result of receiving one. One of the byproducts of giving such a compliment is that it causes us to take a step back, acknowledging the journey up until this point. Not only that, but both parties benefit, because it feels good to make others feel good! The key take away is that what you give, comes back to you. If you're looking to deepen relationships or advance in your career, one of the quickest ways to get there is to acknowledge someone else's journey, as it gives you permission to do the same.
Do you ever say you want something, but then partake in actions that are contrary to what you're trying to achieve? If this is you, don't beat yourself up over it... We all do it and for different reasons. Sometimes life just throws too much at you and as a result, you take the path of least resistance, veering off course. Or perhaps, you never slowed down long enough to question some of the habits playing out in your life and how they were effecting it. In this episode I'll share how a GAP analysis exposed my contradictions, as well as, the framework to identify them in your own life.
Do you beat yourself up over a goal you've yet to achieve? What if it was the journey that you were after the entire time, not the goal? A worthy goal is one that forces us to grow in order to attain it. As a result, it was never about the goal in the first place, but rather who we become in the process. In this episode, I tell the story of a friend of mine who was being very hard on himself for not making the progress he wanted. Because of his overly aggressive expectations, he failed to recognize just how far he's come in only a few years. Each of us are on a journey that is unique to ourselves. What's important is that we not set expectations, but rather trust the process as it unfolds in front of us.
What do you want out of life? At first, you may say that you''re not really sure, but I know if you check in with your heart and ask, you'll get everything you're looking for. The next question then becomes, what are you doing today and is it aligned with what you want to do/be/experience? I believe for many, the answer is no. I know for myself, that I was taking actions and doing things not because I wanted them, but because other expected them of me. If we're going to take control and live passionate lives, we must first be honest with ourselves and ask, "what do I really want?" In this episode you'll find the questions to uncover why you're doing what you're doing, as well as, the very thing keeping you from getting what you want. If we want to change our lives, we must start first with with our story. This is not the story we tell others, but rather the story we tell ourselves as to why we don't have what we want. Why is this important? Because language is powerful and our story puts is in a state of hypnosis. As long as we keep repeating the disempowering story, it will continue to envelop us in its enchanting power. What is a story really? It is the reason we tell ourselves as to why we don't have what we want, placing the blame outside ourselves. What we fail to realize is that instead of protecting us, they are harming and stealing the joy from our lives that we so desperately desire. What's the best way to break this spell? Easy... Divorce the story, marry the truth, and tell a new story, one that empowers and moves you towards what you want. Do this a few times and you'll feel a difference. Continue and you'll make the difference.
What if before setting out on a journey, you knew the challenges you would encounter along the way. Would this increase or decrease your chances of success? I believe that some of the reasons we we fail to achieve our goals is that we don't have a strategy on how to overcome the struggles we encounter along the way, as well as, a framework to remind us of what we were after in the first place. The good news is that both of these are in your control, but they require you to think differently, by asking a new questions. Doing so will align you with your desire and give you the strength to push through the uncomfortable times. What feels better, when you feel empathy towards a person or when you feel division? The answer is obvious... We feel better and more alive when we feel connected to those around us. Separation causes suffering. If the truth is so obvious, why then do we choose to divide rather than unite? Even when we know intellectually that we're all equal, there may be an unconscious belief you picked up form TV, your family, or your faith that is keeping you from feeling this connection. In this episode learn how experiences shift your beliefs, as well as, a simplistic framework to change how you show up, by first connecting with your higher self.
So you say you want to travel more? How committed are you? Did you know that the longer you put it off, the less likely you'll travel in the future? In this episode Sonia shares what "trips" most people up in their desire to see the world, as well as, practical solutions to overcome them. At the age of 35, equipped with a strong desire to see the world, Sonia packed her bags and left her home country! Talk about breaking routines and getting out of your comfort zone. Here's the takeaway... If she did it, you can too. Here's how... Enjoy!
