*** I grew up in Bayview Houses, Canarsie, and have decade long family roots in Bushwick and Clinton Hills. After graduating Norman Thomas HS in 1988, I married and joined the US Army. Stationed in Seoul, Korea I started my family and took an early leave. Upon my return to Brooklyn and juggling some family issues, I moved to Sunset Park; Where I have raised my children Jeffrey and Victoria, since 1993.  In 1994, I was introduced to the non profit sector during my employment with Hispanic Young Peoples Alternatives, Inc. In 1997, I began working as a community organizer with Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc. It was there, I began to develop my leadership qualities. As my children grew into young adults, I became more involved with community and cultural issues including:  **Affordable/subsidized Housing 

**Discrimination 

**Women's Equality 

**Children's literacy 

**Civics

** Over Veterans Day Weekend, The American Italian Cancer Foundation will be providing FREE Mammograms at the locations on the fliers for Women ages 40-79.  No insurance is required and ALL insurances are accepted. As part of her mission, Amira has developed a successful and well-attended monthly spoken-word showcase and open mic called Poetic Affair, highlighting a featured artist. Truck Stop Queen (Darlene) was selected and published in the LIC One-Act Festival Anthology. She is a co-founder of WolfBun Productions, producing stories that give voice to the voiceless. --- Based out of Brooklyn, Jessie Novik is a Fine Art Painter, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, and Muralist with a masters in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute and a BFA in painting and sculpture from Alfred University. In her personal work, Jessie is drawn towards imaginative realism, filtering objects and landscapes from observation and travel through her rich imagination. Although she generally prefers traditional methods of oil painting, Jessie is trained and experienced in a large variety of mediums and techniques. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally and regularly leads public art projects throughout NYC. 

 --   She has since been leading community based mural groups as an Art Therapist throughout NYC. She began teaching a graduate level course on mural painting and Art Therapy at Pratt Institute in 2019. Some of her most notable mural projects have included: Mt. Sinai Children's Hospital, NY Health+Hospitals, 72+Sunny, Rikers Island, Manhattan College, NYC Family Court, and many more,

-In This Episode I speak my piece.     Being conscious of others is important. It's a valuable tool and necessary to navigate through life harmoniously. At time we are faced with decisions which directly affect the position of other's in their own lives. Time is one of them. -- In using our own time we decide how to manage it effectively or not. Choosing not to manage it also creates a ripple effect for yourself in decreased results as well any liason or person connected by the transaction with you and their effectiveness. We are all guilty of being late, tardy, or cancelling, myself included , but how does that affect the other individual or situation that depends on your punctuality? Is there any solution or preventative measures , or damage control that could potentially reduce the impact on the other end by our delinquency? In this episode, I question those things and ask for your feedback. Let me know in the comments below.
