S 3 Ep.4 How Writer/Visual Artist Nathan Harding Found Himself with World Travel & Explains NFTs
Guest: Nathan Harding Contact/Follow: on Twitter/Fb/Spotify/LinkedIn/Youtube @NathanHarding www.NathanHarding.com
our Guest on this Episode shares his Life experiences to help everyone target a way to empower ones own own Life, create clarity, and generate a more profitable way of wealth with your Art with NFTs.
Nathan Harding is an intuitive, American artist in New York City who’s known for his vibrant, abstract paintings. His fascination with the visual arts began in Whittier, California as a multiracial child where he’d watch movies being filmed in his neighborhood. As a teenager he wrote and directed character-driven scenes while growing up on 20-acres in Freeland, Washington. At Chapman University he studied filmmaking with an emphasis on screenwriting and directing. Before graduating, he was hired by talent agency, William Morris, as an agent trainee in Beverly Hills, California. The more Nathan progressed at the agency, the stronger he desired to leave the United States. He quit the agency, went through an identity crisis, and listened to someone’s suggestion to teach English in Japan. In Osaka and Tokyo, he worked as an English instructor.
Tokyo tiggered an awakening to move to India where he lived at a Buddhist Burmese Vihara Monastery in Bodh Gaya. Nathan spent most of his days visiting the nearby Bodhi Tree where the Buddha became enlightened. He returned to Southern California and studied Tibetan Buddhism with the late Venerable Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen at Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling in Long Beach while working in nonprofit management. Many World travels later he settled in Queens, NY ,where he quickly met his future Ecuadorian husband, Jorge. They live in one of the most diverse, multicultural neighborhoods in the world. In their spare time they renovate a 100-year-old home in a northeastern Pennsylvania coal mining town. Since being in New York, Nathan has focused on acting, writing, photography, filmmaking and painting. His life experiences are fundamental to his process as an artist.

****
—-Bio: Christopher was born and raised in Queens NY. At 16, he met Jack Flanagan, guitarist for the seminal NYHC pioneers, The Mob. Starting out as a roadie, Christopher soon took on bass duties in 1985 when original bassist Jose Gonzalez left to join the HR band (legendary vocalist of the Bad Brains). Christoper recorded the album We Come to Crush with The Mob and played his first gig with teh Mob at CBGB’s. Christopher toured with the Mob on and off for the next 35 years, usually as a 5-piece with Christopher on guitar and with Jose returning on bass. In 2012, the Mob released the single “Back to Queens / Thats It”, both written by Christopher and vocalist Ralph Gebbia. Christopher played his last gig with The Mob at Generation Records in NYC in the winter of 2017, before relocating to California.
In the early 90’s, Christopher recorded and toured with Juicemen, releasing 2 EPs produced by Sean Slade (Radiohead, Hole, Dinosaur Jr), and engineered by Dave Dominich (Lenny Kravitz). In California, Christopher started the Monk & The 66 project. Initially starting as demos, the project began to take shape during 2020, and in 2021, Christopher Monk released the first Monk & The 66 single, Isolation Station. He quickly followed up with “Riding with the Ghost”. Taking on an obscure Allen Toussaint single from 1966, Christopher reworked and released Omar Khayyam which crystallized the Monk & The 66 sound with tight grooves. scratchy guitars, deep bass lines, topped of by Christopher's gravelly vocals, bringing to Tom Waits or Robbie Robertson.
In October 2021, Christopher released his most compelling and autobiographical song to date, Like a Man on the Moon. Featuring Christopher’s searing slide guitar and dub style bass, Like a Man on The Moon tackles Christopher battle with depression and healing journey. As 2021 comes to a close, Christopher is putting finishing touches on his last single for 2021, Pain of Love.
*** Through his prolific career in the music scene of NYC in the days that started a music movement, he has now launched more solo projects to be inspired and re-inspire a new generation of listeners. In this episode we get a chance to hear two new projects upcoming while in the Studio.
