Only The Resurrection

Pastor Sung Ro Kim is the pastor of the Hanmaum church in Cheuncheon South Korea. He has proclaimed the gospel of the resurrection of Jesus Christ for 15 years and his church has experienced great change and work of the Holy Spirit.  R.A. Torrey (1856-1928), a 20th century evangelist, was a friend and associate of D.L. Moody and the first superintendent of Moody Bible Institute. Today we will be listening to a testimony of a sister. This is so amazing especially when we see the work of the Holy Spirit in her testimony, because this sister said that she would never believe without seeing the resurrection for herself. But it is not through what we can see or touch, that we can believe, but through the sure proof that the Holy Spirit reveals to us. Let’s see the great work of the Holy Spirit in this testimony of how the resurrection became reality through the historical proof and how she came to repent and surrender to the risen Jesus. And because the risen Jesus became her Lord, her struggle of hatred for her father was solved and she could love her father with the love of Christ. Hyeondong was ashamed of sharing the Gospel in public even he was a seminary student and a pastor’s son. He knows all Bible stories because he grew up in church, but he can’t believe. Through a Hanmaeun Church brother introduced by his wife, he got the message of the Gospel of Resurrection. He was shocked to know that there is proof to believe. This testimony is about Gukgyu who struggled in vain to overcome the problems of suicide and mental illness in his family. He struggled also with anxiety and was not able to concentrate because his mind was constantly bombarded by the thoughts given to him by the devil. But after meeting the risen Jesus, he was able to overcome all his problems. He was able to overcome everything! This testimony is so precious because it is from a sister who used to pride herself in being open-minded to the homosexual and transgender community in the name of love. Kyung-Ah used to want to be a man and was a strong advocate of homosexuality, but her life was totally changed when she discovered the true love of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. Though she was filled with doubts and stubbornly held on to her own values and preconceptions, in front of the historical fact of the resurrection, she could not deny the true love of God that sent his own son to die for his rebellious creation and saw the truth about homosexuality. This testimony we will be listening to is ‘I escaped homosexuality.’ This testimony is of a sister who for all her life lived as a lesbian, thinking she was a man. She lived for the pleasures of her flesh, thinking that there was nothing wrong with homosexuality claiming that it was just another form of love. But in front of the unshakable proof of the resurrection, she was able to surrender to the perfect love of God and was freed from homosexuality. Let’s listen to her testimony together.
