Opposite Attractions: A Theme Park Design Show episodes

  • The Scottye Methodologye

This week, we discuss Scottye's recent trip to Disneyland and all the wacky and wild things it has. Comparisons to Florida are made. Lightsabers are crowdfunded. Vaping is disallowed, but still happens. Then, we give SITCOT some attractions based on everyone's favorite least comedic situation known as The Big Bang Theory. First, Scottye sends the gang (and some guests) hurtling through the universe of time as passengers as they unravel the mysteries that led to the eponymous explosion referenced in the title of the show. Then, Jim shrinks guests down not for a war, but for a mission of understanding as they go on the hunt to find why on Earth this poor poor boy has trouble talking to women unless he is absolutely hammered. Much like the show, nothing is persumably learned by the end.

  • Not Starring The Harlem Globetrotters

This week, we discuss various DisTwitter shenanigans, the art of speaking to Sith Lords, and the hiring process for DCA before giving SITCOT some attractions based on Gilligan's Island. First up, Jim throws some guests on a boat and then throws a BUNCH of water at those guests. Buy your commerative towels at the exit, only $65. Then, Scottye realizes just how little he knows about the old-timey show and crafts a collection of mad libs. It makes more sense than Ginger Grant's wardrobe ever did, at least.

Also, remember that Patreon subscribers get access to our new show FAQ (or is that Queue?) where we discuss histories and stories of various theme park attractions. This month, we delve into the deep waters of Pirates Of The Carribbean.

  • The Man's Theme Park Attraction

This week, we discuss the new ELEVEN DOLLAR sporks you can find in Batuu and then set about building a Home Improvment attraction for our sitcom park SITCOT. First up, Scottye bypasses the show and goes right to the SNES video game of the show, which features all the things Scottye loves in a theme park attraction (mainly dinos and aliens, along with Ellen DeGeneres somehow). Then, Jim pits Tim against his arch-nemesis Bob Vila in a battle of attraction supremecy that maybe Tim wins. Or not. All that time working for Disney has not made Tim the best imagineer, is what we are saying.

  • Hey Hey Hey What Is Going On Here??!!

This week, we discuss a VERY Unfortunate Figment Drink (tm) as well as the various sitcoms that have visited a Disney Theme Park at some time since the early 90s. Somehow Newhart never made it to Disneyland. Then, we bring some Saved By The Bell attractions to our sitcom theme park SITCOT. First up, Jim relies solely on a single episode of the Malibu Sands series and sends guests on a whirlwind journey through wacky beachfront shenanigans that ends with a beloved voice actor nearly dying. Then, Scottye brings in exactly what Bayside High was missing all these years in the Yakuza. Also, steroids!

Please not that Tori Spelling does not appear during this episode. Also, Tori Scott doesn't graduate. How contractually sad.

  • The Nexus Of The Universe

This week, we find out what the deal is with our sitcom-based theme park when we design some Seinfeld-based attractions! Turns out, it's a lot of yada, yada, yada Tower of Terror type of stuff. This is an episode about nothing, and it just might be our best episode ever. Remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.

  • It's Like The Imitation Cheese Of Theater

This week, it's our shortest episode ever! After a short discussion about the merits of Hashtag Distwitter, we set out to give our newest theme park its first sitcom-based attractions. Jim combines the whimsy of comedy monsters with the audience particaption of lion royalty theatre to see which Belcher child will take over the park's new restaurant. Meanwhile, Scottye places guests into a war of toilets. And he says he doesn't understand Disney fans on social media...

  • Thank God It's A Theme Park

This week, we return with brand spanking new pitches for new theme parks to set a course for our NINTH season! After discussing our holiday gift giving and receiving, Scottye throws out ideas based on lesser known celebrities and incredibly rich people. Meanwhile, Jim is thwarted in his quest for a Guy Fieri park and instead goes to a real EPCOT, which would be such a collossal disaster. We eventually (somehow) settle on the rich vein that is situation comedies. It's going to be one of those kinds of seasons.

So stay tuned next week, same Opp Time, same Att channel...and pardon the audio quality as we had to pull it from Twitch after Scottye's new post-Xmas setup had a minor whoopsie.

  • Let's Get Out Of Here!

It's our season finale and we gotta tear this puppy down to the ground! After discussing how we would fill our Epic Universe park up with lots of action-able employees, Scottye lets one of them set up some fireworks on a Giant Swing. This goes rather poorly and has the expected results. Meanwhile, Jim grants one lucky winner a chance to live the dream of destroying a theme park the Project Mayhem way while also creating tons of really akward band names.

As per usual, we take a week off between seasons, however with Christmas on the horizon, you will instead have to wait until January 6th to see what season 8 has in store. See you next year!

  • Let's Get Moving!

This week, we discuss some of the insanity at this year's IAAPA conference in Orlando before setting about giving our very own Epic Universe it's own dangerous transportation systems. First up, Jim creates an in-park monorail-ish contraption that just so happens to routinely derail around the load/unload stations, leading to some harrowing balancing acts as guests try (and possibly fail) to make it to their next destination without falling to the sidewalks below. Meanwhile, outside the park, Scottye has instituted a guest proving ground to show that you have the fortitude to spend the day in a theme park that will most definitely cause bodily harm and/or death. Presumably you do not need a ticket to get to the turnstiles themselves, but you might need good insurance.

Next week it's our season finale! Stay tuned!

  • Let's Get Sharp!

This week, your hosts spend way too much time talking about Baby Yoda merch and laughing at Reddit and not near enough time trying to put sharp pointy objects into attractions for Epic Universe. However, Scottye does eventually get around to inviting guests into his Knives Land, which may have originally been planned for California Adventure before they settled on Superstar Limo. Then, Jim creates two rides in one as he creates and destroys Highlanders in an attraction that he didn't actually name in the episode but probably has something to do with a Quickening or at least Mr. Krabs.

Future note: Please do not relieve yourself in the queue for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railaway, no matter how funny you'll think it'll be posted on the internet later.
