When you think of influential leaders in vision therapy, Dr. Marc Taub is a path paver in the field. His work as an author, teacher, and speaker brings this specialty to optometrists new and experienced, as well as directly to the public. As this year’s winner of the prestigious A. M. Skeffington Award, Dr. Taub‘s contribution to optometry has certainly been recognized.  With two published books and plans for much more on the way, Dr. Taub is also the editor of the OVP Journal and writes regularly for Review of Optometry.  Did we mention he is the Chief of the Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation program at the Southern College of Optometry, a dad, and also going back to school in his free time? It’s no wonder we joked about his precious few hours of sleep.

Dr. Taub‘s passion for vision therapy came from his own experiences as a child, where his optometrist helped address convergence issues that had been mislabeled as a learning disability. Now he helps kids in the Memphis area unlock their true potential at SCO, and trains the next generation of optometrists to look for and address these common but often misdiagnosed or ignored visual system inefficiencies. He is passionate about bringing vision therapy to a larger audience, be it through writing, speaking, or collaborating with medical professionals across disciplines.
