Jesus’ parable of the wise and foolish virgins emphasizes the need to be ready for when he comes. It is something that we must always be ready for, and not something when he can get ready for when it arrives. More than just desiring to be at the wedding feast of the Lamb, we must be prepared for his coming.

Revelation 19 presents the day of the Lord as a day of a wedding feast, when the bride (the church) and the bridegroom (Christ) will finally be fully one. All are invited to the wedding through the gospel, but only those who recieve the invitation and come properly clothed will be allowed at the feast.

2 Chronicles 18 tells the story of two kings that could not be more different. It tells the story of a prophet that would not compromise for any reason. And it tells of a God who still cares for his people, even when they make mistakes. The story of King Jehoshaphat and of Michaiah the prophet should encourage to stay true to the Lord, no matter what.

Caleb Young, from Rock Hill, SC, did an excellent job bringing this lesson to us.
