  • Episode 28: Our Most Anticipated Games of 2019
In the twenty-eighth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan of course kick off the show sharing the games they have been playing recently. Rusty has lost himself in the world of Dark Souls. Ryan has clearly corrupted him. However, not so much that he didn’t still collect a few more gold bananas in Donkey Kong 64. Like creamy peanut butter, Ryan never changes. Just more Dark Souls for him.
After the games they’ve been playing recently, Rusty and Ryan break down not their top 10 games of 2018, but their most anticipated games of 2019! Because somehow the New Year just came and went. Time and things. Kingdom Hearts 3 takes up all 10 spots on Rusty’s list, fear not. Enjoy the episode!

  • Episode 27: Our Favorite Games of 2018
In the twenty-seventh episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan kick off the show sharing the games they have been playing recently. It may be difficult to believe, but Ryan is playing Dark Souls 3. Again. New character build, though, so apparently it’s big news. Rusty is growing tired of current generation consoles and chooses to revisit an old nostalgic favorite. The N64 is forever the best.
After the games they’ve been playing recently, Rusty and Ryan break down not only their Top 10 Films of the Year, but more importantly, their Top 10 Video Games of the Year. Lots of surprises to be had. The guys even go off into the wildest of tangents, creating a Lord of the Rings Helm’s Deep battle x Pokemon. Just about what long-time listeners have come to expect from Otaku Brothers. Enjoy the episode!

  • Episode 26: A Very Merry Otaku Brothers Christmas
In the twenty-sixth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan share their fondest Christmas memories from the past. From surprise Phat PS2’s to the Platinum Gamecube, there’s no shortage of interesting, and factually questionable tales. The guys also exchange gifts, take lots of listener questions, and ponder why they’re the only two adults that still believe in Santa.
After all of the Christmas cheer, Rusty and Ryan share their recent experiences revisiting the world of Skyrim. Let’s just say that Ryan takes things a step too far. Enjoy the show and a have VERY Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Otaku Brothers!

  • Episode 25: Settle it in Smash
In the milestone twenty-fifth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan sign up for more than what they’re capable of. While they had great intentions of returning to the 90’s, listener questions came in like a wrecking ball. SO, listener questions take priority, and the guys will revisit the 90’s at a later date. You can thank Executive Producer of the podcast, Travis, for that delay.
After listener questions, Rusty and Ryan talk ALL things Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Without spoiling the discussion, they love it. Tune in and enjoy, friends. The guys couldn’t be more appreciative of the support received to-date. The show is produced for YOU fine folks!

  • Episode 24: All About Those Oak Trees
In the twenty-fourth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan get absolutely wild. Seriously, this episode borders explicit territory. Before getting intensely swifty, Rusty discusses his journey through Kanto and road to the Elite Four, while Ryan continues playing Dark Souls 3. They are also mildly excited for Smash Brothers Ultimate.
The guys got some great listener questions, which, per usual, lead to some interesting tangents. After listener questions things get absolutely bonkers. As Ryan and Rusty did in a previous episode, they return to asking each other “Would You Rather” questions. These are the Would You Rather type scenarios you’d only come across during late night television. You’ve been warned. Enjoy!

  • Episode 23: Switch-giving
In the twenty-third episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty and Ryan share their Thanksgiving experiences. Rusty’s wife (Lauren) got a super secret gift for Rusty…tune in to find out what it was! Speaking of Thanksgiving, the listeners wrote in with some excellent Thanksgiving themed questions.
After listener questions, Rusty and Ryan both have been completely engrossed (addicted? send help…) in the world of Pokemon. Revisiting Kanto in Nintendo’s recent Pokemon: Let’s Go has never been so fun. The guys share their thoughts and experience playing the game, what they love, what they hate, and why potassium supplements are always the better item when things go awry in battle. Enjoy!

  • Episode 22: It's All Part of the College Experience
In the twenty-second episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty kicks off the show recounting his time hanging out with newly promoted Executive Producer of the podcast and friend of the show, Travis. They watched 6 seasons of Super Monsters on Netflix, played Fibbage on PS4, and ate Pokemon gummies. You know, as all mature adults do these days. Rusty also discusses his time with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, while Ryan talks highly of both Dark Souls III and Warframe.
After that, they take a few listener questions before getting into the main topic: College experiences. They discuss most memorable gaming experiences while in college, reveal their collegiate geographic locations, and Ryan even became best friends with Peyton Manning. Enjoy!

  • Episode 21: Waluigi Gets the Shaft Again
In the twenty-first episode of Otaku Brothers, Ryan and Rusty continue and finish Supermassive Game’s Until Dawn on PS4. FULL SPOILERS AHEAD. You’ve been warned. They had a heck of time, and both received completely different endings. Rusty only had 3/8 people survive…Ryan saved 6. There are no heroes here, only villains.
After talking about Until Dawn for nearly 45 minutes, the guys take a few listener questions, ranking the Smash Bros. series of games, while also talking at length about their most disappointing video games of all time. Looking at you Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Later on in the show, the guys dive deep into all things Super Smash Bros. They dissect the recent Smash Nintendo Direct, argue about it’s highs and lows, and ponder why Pirahana Plant made the cut, while Waluigi will forever live in his brother's shadows. Enjoy!

  • Episode 20: Entering Our Nightmares
In the milestone twentieth episode of Otaku Brothers, Ryan and Rusty (regrettably?) play through the horror-adventure game Until Dawn on PS4. They are forced to make gut-wrenching, split decisions that alter how the rest of the story plays out. Ryan chooses to shoot a squirrel and his PS4 turned into an acorn.
After talking about Until Dawn for nearly 30 minutes, the guys take lots of listener questions, most of which are horror related, but they also have to go on a quest with farting dogs. Yeah, they’re just as confused as you are. Later on, they discuss all things horror and Halloween related. From discussing their most feared ways of dying, favorite Halloween candy and movies, and even worst reoccurring childhood nightmares, the possibilities are endless here. You’ll never look at killer caterpillar clowns the same again. Enjoy!

  • Episode 19: Fallout Shelters and Croquet Mallets
In the nineteenth episode of Otaku Brothers, Ryan talks about his business trip to Mexico. He neglects Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow in the process, and takes quite a bit of time ranting about microtransactions in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Well, both of the guys rant about microtransactions. A lot. Rusty played more Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of the Elusive Age and also explored ancient Egypt for a few hours in Assassin’s Creed Origins.
After that they dive into listener questions, talking about HD Remasters, Best Dressed Video Game Characters, and eventually, talk their most hilarious and unsettling life experiences ever. Some of the wildest stories the boys have yet shared. Finally, they delve into the main topic of the show: Gaming franchises they simply do not enjoy. Sorry Kingdom Hearts fan. That garbage should have died in the conceptual stages. Only joking! But for real, sorry Fallout fans. Enjoy!
