  • Episode 18: A Friend Named Wilson
In the eighteenth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty finally delves into Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of the Elusive Age. Ryan and Rusty proceed to talk about the game without spoilers for nearly 45 minutes. Ryan also sneakily buys a game for PS4 and shares his opinion. HINT: It’s a new release and a series both Rusty and Ryan haven’t played in years. After Game’s They’ve Been Playing Recently, the gentlemen get plenty of listener questions. From favorite TV Shows, Best Dressed Characters, to hostile work environments, things get as wild as they usually do. Perhaps even more than usual…
After that they hop on plane for a one-way trip to New Zealand, only to be shortly interrupted by a combusting jet engine that forces them to land on deserted islands in the middle of nowhere. Because reasons, they were able to choose 3 video games, movies, CD’s, and books to accompany them on their journey. Robinson Crusoe approves. Enjoy!

  • Episode 17: Otaku Brothers Assemble!
In the seventeenth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty gets back into the video game groove, playing the N64 classic Goldeneye, starring the ruggedly handsome Peirce Brosnan. He beat the game in 2 sittings. Someone alert Borris for help. Ryan on the other hand went back to Bloodborne and proceeds to make Rusty drool as he goes deep into the lore of the game. Someone out there will [also probably not] understand.
After that they go into all things Marvel related. They discuss and sometimes argue their Top 10 movies in the Cinematic Universe, cordially discuss their favorite characters, and collectively ponder where things will go moving forward. Enjoy!

  • Episode 16: Too Many Acronyms
In the sixteenth episode of Otaku Brothers, Rusty passes the time watching Atypical and strange horror movies while his wife is in Japan. Ryan on the other hand has put 44 hours into Dragon Quest XI…35 of which were spent in the Casino playing slot machines.
After that they take a trip back to Diagonally. Friends of the show Travis and Alec write in to tell the guys everything they ever wanted to know about Harry Potter. Alec especially explains everything we got wrong in the last episode. Rusty is contemplating avada kedavraing him should they cross paths (kidding, of course). They also go over a slew of recent gaming news including the Nintendo Direct, PlayStation Classic, reviews for Spider-Man and Tomb Raider and much more. Enjoy!

  • Episode 15: Between Platforms 9 and 10
In the fifteenth episode of Otaku Brothers Rusty and Ryan of course talk about the games they’ve been playing recently. Rusty has greatly been enjoying the SNES Classic while Ryan…Well, as Rusty types the show notes he really can’t recall what Ryan played. Let’s go with Final Fantasy XIII? One of Ryan’s personal favorites. Per usual, listener mail derails the Hogwarts Express to the 9 ¾ degree. They’re sorry but not sorry.
After that they take a trip to Diagonally. Ryan and Rusty rank each of the Harry Potter movies from favorite to least favorite, debate which Hogwarts House they’d be placed in, talk favorite characters and scenes from the movies and so much more. Enjoy!

  • Episode 14: Growing up in the 90's (Part 1)
In the fourteenth episode of Otaku Brothers Rusty and Ryan of course talk about the games they’ve been playing recently, but not before they share some of the recent happenings in gaming news! They tried to stay on track with listener questions this week, but as most Otaku Brothers trains go, they derail real fast. Ryan plays a new game on Switch called Dead Cells, while Rusty talks to the great minority (majority) of humans that (don’t) care about PlayStation Vita games and how great a system it is.
After that they take a time machine back to the 90’s, talking about their favorite toys, technology, food, snacks, and cereals from their youth. Ryan and Rusty don’t like to toot their horns often, but they think this is the best episode yet…if nothing else they laughed more uncontrollably in this episode than any previous show. Enjoy!

  • Episode 13: When PlayStation Went Portable
In the thirteenth episode of Otaku Brothers Rusty and Ryan of course talk about the games they’ve been playing recently, and got on even MORE (can you believe it?) wild tangents during the listener mail segment. Rusty also talks about his plan to watch 100 movies over the course of the next year, calling it his “Quest for 100”. Just when you thought he couldn’t get more weird.
In the main topic of the episode, they dove deep into all things Playstation Portable (PSP). They cover a brief history of the console, courtesy of their good friends over at Wikipedia, and then discuss their own personal memories with the system. Favorite games, personal stories getting the console and the first games they played, and much more. Enjoy the show!

  • Episode 12: The Games on the Horizon
In the twelfth episode of Otaku Brothers things get a little crazy. Rusty tweaked his back mid episode and the guys had to record the second half of the episode a week later. But no worries! They still talked about the games they’ve been playing recently, got on wild tangents per usual during the listener mail segment, and even gave a nice shout out to Carrot Top and Dr. Phil.
In the main topic of the episode, they dove deep into all of the upcoming games from August – December. They talk impressions, what’s most anticipated, and why Rusty wishes he lived with Dinosaurs and the ancient Egyptians. Enjoy the show!

  • Episode 11: Too Many RPGs
In the eleventh episode of Otaku Brothers Rusty and Ryan of course talk about the games they’ve been playing. Ryan is still playing click games on his iPhone but also started a new game on PS4 called Nioh. Rusty continues to dig through his backlog of PS2 games with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but spent the bulk of his time in piecing back the world of Dark Cloud. Definitely want to tune in to hear their thoughts.
Later on they dig into some fun listener questions where they get on all sorts of tangents. Completely unrelated to the questions asked. As always. Then they talk all things RPGs: First RPG, what is so appealing to them about the genre, and going through the different sub-genres to discuss the best games for each. Enjoy the show!

  • Episode 10: House of Mouse Meets Gizmo
In the tenth (10 already?!) episode of Otaku Brothers we have another special guest…Rusty’s wife and Ryan’s sister Lauren! She shares her first experiences playing video games as well as some of her favorite games. We of course talk about the games we’ve been playing recently and not much has changed since last week. Ryan is still playing click games on his iPhone while Rusty continues to dig through his backlog of PS2 games. Lauren pets virtual dogs because she’s in denial that she can’t currently own one. Apartments apparently have rules about that kind of stuff or something.
Later on we dig into all things Disney and Pixar. From sharing our Top 5 Movies for both, to debating hand drawn vs. CGI animation and even the live action adaptions, it’s a packed show. We hope you enjoy!

  • Episode 9: Opening Pandorra's Box
The ninth episode of Otaku Brothers is something quite special, and one Rusty in particular is proud to share. Pete Dorr joins Rusty and Ryan as a guest to cover a slew of topics. Pete kicks off the episode sharing how he first starting playing video games, his time on YouTube, podcasting, and more recently Twitch.tv (see all links below!) We then of course get into the games we’ve all been playing recently and listener questions.
Later on things get real interesting, covering things like Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) addictions, the state of game collecting (best practices, eBay buying tips, and most affordable systems to collect for), and a little thing called Toreba…we apologize in advance to all of you fine folks that dive into the greatness that is Toreba, . I hope you enjoy the show and a tremendous shout out and thanks to Pete for joining us on the show.
