Our Paranormal Afterlife : Finding Proof of Life After Death

Near-death research. This week on The Past Lives Podcast I talk to PMH Atwater.

She is an international authority on near-death states, Dr. PMH Atwater, L.H.D. uses the culmination of her research to establish that the near-death phenomenon is not some kind of anomaly, but is rather part of the larger genre of transformations of consciousness.

She combines her 38 years of near-death research with what she was doing in the 60s and 70s, experiencing, experimenting with, and researching altered states of consciousness, mysticism, psychic phenomena, and the transformational process, to reveal what transformations of consciousness really are, why we have them, and where they lead us.

This lifetime endeavor covers over 43 years of work, involving nearly 7,000 people. Her meticulous and unique protocol gives validity to what she has discovered, and verified, about the percentage worldwide of people who have undergone near-death experiences.

The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences: The Ultimate Guide to What Happens When We Die

The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences encompasses every aspect of the near-death phenomenon: the experience, aftereffects, and implications. P.M.H. Atwaters simple, appealing format includes drawings and cartoons by Spirit Painter and Chuck Vadun and sidebars from experts. She investigates and reports on the power of changed lives, the reality of deceased who come back, visitors at death's edge, out-of-body travel, the expansion of normal faculties, the awesome presence of Deity and the importance of spirituality.

The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences examines near-death studies from the Moody Miracle early days, through the myths of the light at the end of the tunnel and the religion of the resuscitated, to 2007. After 32 years of work with clinical prospective studies in several countries, the reality of the near-death experience has been verified, confirming its importance in the study of consciousness.

Sign Posts of Dying. This week I am talking to Martha J Atkins PHD about her book Sign Posts of Dying.

Sign Posts of Dying tells about the unique language and behaviors of the dying. Brief so as not to overwhelm yet thorough enough to get the information needed, each Signpost shines a light on often ignored or unrecognized aspects of the dying process. Is your beloved hearing people in the hallway? Are they talking about 'other rooms' or friendly visitors who aren't family members? This book can help you recognize the language of dying. Useful for caregivers, mental health pros, and hospice volunteers, Signposts will help you understand some of what you may experience as you walk with a person who is leaving this world. One reader says, "Very intimate and makes what is a difficult topic for lots of people very safe."

Past-life regression. This week I am talking to Robert L Snow about his book 'Portrait of a Past-Life Skeptic: The True Story of A Police Detective's Reincarnation'. Robert served for 38 years at the Indianapolis Police Department, retiring in 2007 with the rank of captain.

An offhand dare to undergo a past-life regression sets police captain Robert Snow on a two-year investigation that shakes the foundation of his world, radically changing his views on life, death, and the scope of reality. A hard-nosed police detective, Robert Snow was devoted to evidence and hard facts-he had never given any thought to reincarnation. But during his hypnotic regression, he experiences a vivid awareness of being alive in three separate historical scenes. Remaining skeptical, Snow begins to investigate with the intention of disproving reincarnation. Instead, diligent research and corroboration from multiple sources reveal solid evidence that he lived a former life as Carroll Beckwith, a nineteenth-century British artist. Portrait of a Past Life Skeptic tells the fascinating story of Robert Snow's transformation from skeptic to believer.

Near Death Experience. This week I am talking to Howard Storm about his astonishing Near Death Experience and his book ‘My Descent into Death: and the Message of Love Which Brought Me Back’.

Howard Storm, an avowed atheist, was awaiting emergency surgery when he realized that he was at death's door. Storm found himself out of his own body, looking down on the hospital room scene below. Next, rather than going "toward the light," he found himself being torturously dragged to excruciating realms of darkness and death, where he was physically assaulted by monstrous beings of evil. His description of his pure terror and torture is unnerving in its utter originality and convincing detail.

Finally, drawn away from death and transported to the realm of heaven, Storm met angelic beings as well as the God of Creation. In this fascinating account, Storm tells of his "life review," his conversation with God, even answers to age-old questions such as why the Holocaust was allowed to take place. Storm was sent back to his body with a new knowledge of the purpose of life here on earth. This book is his message of hope.

"This is a book you devour from cover to cover, and pass on to others. This is a book you will quote in your daily conversation. Storm was meant to write it and we were meant to read it."

-From the foreward by Anne Rice

http://howardstorm.com/

As I lay on the ground, my tormentors swarming around me, a voice emerged from my chest. It sounded like my voice, but it wasn't a thought of mine. I didn't say it. The voice that sounded like my voice, but wasn't, said, "Pray to God." I remember thinking, "Why? What a stupid idea. That doesn't work. What a cop-out . . ."

That voice said it again, "Pray to God!" It was more definite this time. I wasn't sure what to do. Praying, for me as a child, had been something I had watched adults doing. It was something fancy and had to be done just so. I tried to remember prayers from my childhood experiences in Sunday school. Prayer was something you memorized. What could I remember from so long ago? Tentatively, I murmured a line, which was a jumble from the Twenty-third Psalm, "The Star-Spangled Banner," the Lord's Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and "God Bless America," and whatever other churchly sounding phrases came to mind.

"Yea, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. For purple mountain majesty, mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord. Deliver us from evil. One nation under God. God Bless America."

To my amazement, the cruel, merciless beings tearing the life out of me were incited to rage by my ragged prayer. It was as if I were throwing boiling oil on them. They screamed at me, "There is no God! Who do you think you're talking to? Nobody can hear you! Now we are really going to hurt you." They spoke in the most obscene language, worse than any blasphemy said on earth. But at the same time, they were backing away.

After Death. This week I am talking to Annie Mattingley about her book ‘The After Death Chronicles: True Stories of Comfort, Guidance, and Wisdom from Beyond the Veil’.

This is a book about ordinary people--plumbers, artists and accountants, bakers and beauticians, teachers and lawyers--who have been able to receive communication from loved ones who have died. Included here are accounts from over 80 people across the country who have had contact with the dead through the diaphanous veil that separates them from the living.

The book begins with the story of Annie's deceased daughter speaking to her in the early morning hours. The communication was so transformative that she began to share her experience. Much to her surprise, she discovered that after-death communication is much more common than is normally assumed, and she began to connect with other folks across the country who had similar experiences.

Each of the ten chapters is organized around a specific kind of after-death communication. Included here are chapters on dreams, verbatim conversations, and synchronicity through nature and various other physical manifestations, descriptions of the results of these occurrences, and advice on how to open up to after-death communication. This book inspires in the reader reassurance, courage, healing, and a sense of wonder.

From the author: "The time is ripe for people to recognize the blessing of how frequently our dead beloveds return . . . to confirm the reality that consciousness continues beyond the grave and to remind us that there is much more to death than the physical cessation of breath and pulse. It is time to break the silence, time to stop keeping these powerful healing experiences to ourselves. It is time to allow the experiences themselves, and the positive effect they have on the living."

Past life memories. This week I am talking to Jenny Cockell about her past life memories and how she confirmed there reality through research and eventually meeting her past incarnation’s children. We discuss her book 'Yesterday's Children: The extraordinary search for my Past Life Family'.

The book describes the trauma and worry of a past-life memory, and Jenny's decision to search for "her" lost children. It follows her progress through her dreams and memories, the revelations of hypnotism, her searches through maps, through local groups in Ireland, and her trip to the village where Mary had lived. Finally, it details her painstaking search for the children and the extraordinary "reunions" that took place.

We also talk about her latest book 'Past Lives Eternal'. Jenny Cockell has always remembered past lives and has spent decades finding documentation and past life relatives to verify the memories. In this, her fourth book, as well as a new case she also looks at the many questions about reincarnation. Where do we go between lives? Does all life reincarnate? If our bodies are made of recycled star dust what about our souls; were they here too from the very beginning? The nature of reality is explored using ideas from many sources, including science and research.
