This 2025 American neo-Western thriller film was written and directed by Ari Aster, and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O'Connell, Micheal Ward, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone. Set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in New Mexico, the film examines the political and social turmoil caused by the contested mayoral election fought between Sheriff Joe Cross (Phoenix) and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pascal).

The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Jordan Weiss, with a story by Weiss and Elyse Hollander. It brings back Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman and Lindsay Lohan as her daughter Anna, who is now an adult, a mother, and preparing for a major family transition. A new twist pulls Anna’s daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters, and her soon to be stepdaughter Lily, played by Sophia Hammons, into a chaotic four person body swap after Anna becomes engaged to Eric, played by Manny Jacinto.

Josh and Jade unpack what works and what is trash and what is treasure. They Manny Jacinto’s performance and argue he deserves far more roles across Hollywood. Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis essentially carries the movie with her presence and comedic timing.
