To create a culture of care we must disrupt and dismantle racism. In this podcast episode, Anthony (Director) responds to three anti-racism reflections:
1) Describe a time that I noticed a racist idea within my consciousness. How did I respond?
2) Describe the most recent example of racism I noticed within our society – a racist idea, policy, or behavior.
3) Describe a time when I interacted with another person or a group of people, were witness to a racist idea, behavior or action and remained neutral.
There is infinite potential for gratitude to change the world. In this story, Anthony (Director) shares his unique journey of piloting an Evolving Minds program for a MOM's Organic Market grocery store. This episode Anthony shares six lessons learned from launching a non-profit in 2020:
1. Thoughtfully respond
2. Follow every breadcrumb
3. No work on the weekends
4. We are all fundraisers
5. It's a marathon, not a sprint
6. We are a start-up
This episode, Anthony talks about the imperfections of fundraising - the stress, internal doubts, reactivity, and provides a window into what it was like launching Evolving Minds' first ever fundraising campaign, Rooted in Resilience (at the time of this recording a few thousand dollars had been raised, a month later, the campaign raised over $12,000). Anthony also speaks about the fundraising process, some frustrations with a culture of unsolicited advice giving and offers words of validation to keep going and pushing within the chaos.
