Self-care is important for physical, mental and spiritual health. When we are continually on the run and stressed out, our cortisol levels chronically elevate and wreak havoc on our bodies and our minds. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to make time for ourselves. In this episode we discuss different strategies for self-care including restorative yoga, stretching, meditation, and ritual baths. And, get yourself a set of astrodice, because it’s also important to have a little fun!

Each of us has a biofield, a universal life force or energetic system, that we can manipulate through various alternative practices like acupuncture, reiki, yoga and meditation. In recent decades, science is exploring the possibilities of what these practices can do to improve our health and well-being. We know that in 60 seconds or less, you can balance your energy and balance your life with breathing techniques.
When we think about new moon intentions, such as with the new moon in Aquarius later this month, we put energy into goal setting in a way that helps us focus our attention and psychic energy. New moon in Aquarius encourages exploration into science, creative expression, new points of view, extrasensory abilities, and unconventional ideas, so this is a perfect time to stretch your wings and research the intersections between science and spirituality.

Journey with us on the Wheel of the Year, as we discuss the pagan Celtic holiday of Imbolc, which celebrates the first stirrings of spring, and how you can transform seasonal blues with self care into boss bitch energy. Imbolc honors the goddess Brigit, who is the patron goddess of poets, healers and blacksmiths. This is a difficult time of year for many who suffer from seasonal depression, so any excuse to bring some light into your everyday life is important. Channel your inner blacksmith, and get down and dirty with us!

Who needs a magic 8-ball when you have a pendulum? In this episode we discuss chakras, and how to use a pendulum to determine whether they are open, closed or blocked, and what this might mean. Using Kelsey as our test subject, we experiment with tips and tricks for balancing an unbalanced chakra, or opening a closed chakra. Charlotte, who is a Reiki master (among other things) takes the lead during this fun episode.

In this episode we discuss Carl Jung's theory of the self, which includes the conscious Persona, the unconscious Shadow and Anima/Animus, and the collective unconscious, rich with archetypes that we all have access to. Stories that we loved as children, which are often full of archetypal inferences, can give insight into how we connect with the world today. Join us, Kristine Erickson, Charlotte Safos and Kelsey Taylor-Williams, for this fun discussion.

This episode of the podcast is a dialog about our nightmares and their relationship to work on the shadow self. When we dream of monsters, the monsters often represent an aspect of ourselves, not an outside threat. This is a useful way to identify when we have challenges we may be experiencing or avoiding. We hope you enjoy it, and thank you for listening!

This is part two of the episode where we explore the wellness wheel by using the Major and Minor Arcana of Tarot. In this episode, we discuss which Tarot cards we think relate to the Intellectual, Financial/Occupational, Environmental, and Spiritual parts of the Wellness Wheel. Kristine, Kelsey, and Charlotte share thoughts on their picks and how you can use Tarot to think about wellness in those areas of your life. We invite you to look through the Tarot or other card decks (e.g., oracle) and select cards that resonate with you related to physical, emotional, and social wellness. It's a fun exercise that will inspire you to think about your wellness and also get to know your cards a little better!
