  • 17. Living with Conviction, Finding Unity Beyond Labels and Revealing Life's 3 Greatest Lessons | with Murphy Wells

What does it mean to live beyond labels?

Honestly, this episode comes pretty damn close to answering that question.

In this completely impromptu conversation, Murphy Wells and I dive deep into what it means to find unity within one of the most controversial topics of today's day and age: politics. Through an incredibly "meta" conversation about what labels really are, we talk about the positive and negative side of labels and how they have affected Murph's presence in the online world of political (and not so political) propaganda.

Throughout this conversation, Murph shares his story of what it was like to live through multiple identities: from drug dealer to CEO and everything in between. As we evolve ourselves into anything and everything that we want to become, Murph also shares his core values and how they serve as an important framework to his life. Our opinions and our circumstances may change, but our values will not. How can we use those values to make decisions and change the trajectory of our lives?

Later in the conversation, Murph decides that HE is now the host of this podcast and interviews ME! This is where things get fun ;)

I share the 3 greatest lessons that I've learned so far in my life's story, which may end up being the 3 most important things that I've ever hoped anybody take away from my social media content. You definitely won't want to miss this.

  • 16. The Pain Is Ancestral: How Intuitive Healing Helped Cure Our Chronic Disease | with Alexa Goedde

Our mind, body, and spirit are more connected than you might think.

In today's episode, I interview Alexa Goedde: a light, an intuitive healer, a physical therapist turned spirit-girlie entrepreneur, and SO much more. Alexa shares her unique story of how she began to recognize and channel her inner gifts in order to help others connect with themselves on level they never thought possible.

This was a super fun conversation and I'm so honored to share Alexa's talents and her story with the world! Going from a "good girl" in a science-based field to the lesser-known world of spirituality and energy work was no easy identity shift, but for Alexa, it was intuitive.

Alexa and I share our unique experiences with grief, the physical ailments that manifested as a result of that grief, and how tapping into our intuition and the small synchronicities of every day life ultimately helped us heal. After connecting with Alexa in-person at a coffee shop and briefly mentioning to her that I've been struggling to get my period back, Alexa invited me to try an "intuitive healing session" with her as my guide, and it was hands-down one of the most magical experiences that I've ever had.

Words can't explain the level of etheral insanity that was our session - but in this podcast episode, I try my best! With ease, Alexa could connect with the innermost workings of my body, with my soul, and with my guardian angels. Without even knowing my history of Hashimoto's, Alexa could use her intuitive (and even psychic?) abilities to help me understand WHY I was experiencing this autoimmune disease, help me heal from it, AND teach me what I needed to do in order to finally feel safe and connected to my body after years of distrust with it.

This is definitely a longer-than-usual episosde, but I can promise that if you go into it with an open mind and an open heart, you will not be disappointed!

  • 15. Rebelling Against Oppression in The Health Industry And Beyond | with Ashantis Jones

This episode might make some people mad...

But where does that anger really come from?

Here with me today is Ashantis Jones, an extremely passionate woman who wears her multidimensional nature on her sleeve as a trauma-informed therapist, weight-inclusive fitness professional, mental health coach, wellness educator and more. In this episode, we work to unravel the intersectionality between health, body image, racisim, and capatalism (because yes, it really is that complicated!).

Ashantis and I talk about how being a black woman and rebelling against systems of oppression has shaped so much of her identity as well as her unique experience in the health industry. Ashantis sheds a lot of light on how these very systems are often keeping women stuck in body shame. Unfortunately, the pushback that we recieve from medical providers when advocating for a weight-inclusive approach, rather than a weight and BMI-centric approach to medical treatment, is preventing many individuals from truly healing. We end by discussing the Health At Every Size movement and how rebelling against diet culture is ALSO a rebellion against the patriarchy. And of course, we don't shy away from the topic of gender identity either...our society's labels and stereotypes have kept Ashantis from feeling truly represented...until now.

This is a SPICY episode that's jam-packed with education, unique perspectives, and resources to help others begin to unravel their own internalized fatphobia and racism. If you'd like to dive deeper into the research on some of the topics that we discuss, or simply see for yourself why this conversation got Ashantis and I so freaking FIRED UP, check out the links below!

  • 14. Who Am I Outside of My (New) Career?

This is the ultimate question, right? The entire point of this whole show?

After losing my job and deciding to build a brand new business from the ground up as a solopreneur, how do I seperate myself from my company? How do I justify taking time off when I am quite literally my only employee? How do I navigate being the career-driven hypermasculine woman that I feel like I need to be in order to make the kind of money that we NEED to have a comfortable life in today's economy when all I want to do is slow TF down?

Spoiler alert: I'm still figuring it out!

In today's episode, I reflect on my life over the last 3 months since the start of my business and share the good, the bad, and the ugly behind-the-scenes reality of entrepreneurship as I try to build a career for myself that goes beyond labels...while swimming upstream in an industry that seems to be founded on labels, templates, cookie-cutter programs and really stupid marketing tactics.

I've learned more about myself in the last 3 months than I have in the last 3 years. Learning how to find my unique voice online, learning how to make time for myself and my relationships in a season of life that seems to demand ALL of my attention, and learning how to embrace ALL facets of who I am without completely burning out...it's been challenging, to say the least.

And especially if you've always been a career-driven person, or a "goal getter" in any way, and you don't know how to move forward on this goal without letting it consume your entire identity...you'll want to learn these lessons for yourself, too.

  • 13. Self-Expression As Self-Care | with Connie Sanchez

In our society, the pressure to look a certain way goes FAR beyond the size of our bodies. Especially as women.

We have to carefully consider our clothes, our hair, makeup, and even our bone structure! How in the world are we supposed to keep up with what's "on trend" nowadays?!

In this episode, Connie I talk about all things self-expression as it relates to the nuances of the beauty industry. I don't know about you, but I sure as hell don't know where to start when it comes to "finding my style" as an almost-30-year-old woman. For somebody who has lived a majority of her life trying to "dress to impress" or use makeup to hide my insecurities...it's really overwhelming to think about using fashion as an oppertunity for healthy self-expression, or using makeup or even a skincare routine as an oppertunity for self-care.

As somebody who even went as far as getting cosmetic surgery to enhance her aesthetic,  Connie has an incredibly unique perspective on this topic. Was it really for herself, or was it because she grew up being bullied for features that she thought she couldn't control? Even though she grew up loving fashion and makeup, at the end of the day, who are we really doing this for?

This was an amazing (and incredibly healing) conversation - I can't wait for you to tune in!

  • 12. How My Identity Is Impacting My Recent Health Issues

This isn't just "my health journey".

This isn't just my story about how I came off of hormonal birth control and healed my gut and got my cycle back and yay now I'm trying for a baby!! Woohoo!

Hoenstly, it's none of that at all.

This is the raw, honest truth about everything I'm going through in regards to my health.

This is the story of how I had to do some HARD AF self-reflection in order to decide whether or not I even wanted to be a mom. Not to mention the fact that I feel lke an ENTIRELY different person after coming off of the pill...after defining my whole existance by my mental health diagnoses, nobody tells you how hard it is to let yourself learn to live without them.

In today's episode, I hope to shine some light on the struggles that women face every day to reconnect with their bodies, reconnect with their intuition, and talk about the very real physical AND emotional journey that some women (like me) need to take when they come off of hormonal birth control.

    Let's get into it!

  • 11. Overcoming Our Eating Disorders and Healing in Real Time | with Lauren Sheehey

If you've ever felt like you were "too much" and yet somehow "not enough"...listen to this episode.

This is more than just mine and Lauren's journey to taking back our power and recovering after years of suffering from an eating disorder...

This is everything that my inner child has ever needed to hear and more.

Lauren is nothing short of the most powerful woman I've ever met, and her story will captivate you from start to finish. She redefines what it means to be a "boss bitch", especially as a mother who once felt like she "couldn't have it all". Her insights remind us that true empowerment comes from living in alignment with our deepest values and being unapologetically ourselves. For both Lauren and I, living a fulfilling life that is in alignment with our deepest values and truly Overcoming Our Identity meant enduring a long road of recovery from an eating disorder. For the first time ever, I share the depths of my own ED struggles and my ongoing battle to attain unconditional self-worth, and together, we shed light on the complexities of eating disorders as a response to shame, not a pursuit of control.

Tune in as Lauren quite literally makes me cry on my own podcast and gives us all the permission to heal that we've been waiting for.

Lauren and I are currently working 1-1 together inside of her and her husband's mentorship program called WTHN (it's amazing). Joe and Lauren also have their own podcast that you should check out on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. At the time of writing this episode description, I am not quite finished with their program yet...but, I can say with confidence that it has already changed my life. I am so grateful to have the honor of calling Joe and Lauren my friends.

Lauren is definitely somebody that you'll want to connect with on Instagram HERE!
