  • Are you on track to reach your goals for the year?
Checking in on our goals is one of the most important actions you can take to keep yourself on track. When you know what direction you're headed, and you can see yourself moving in that direction, even on those “off” days when you aren't hitting all your goals, you can look at your track record and your decisions and say “Hey, I'm on track. I'm moving towards my goals and I am amazing!.” In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I discussed everything you wanted to know about goal setting, planning and staying on track (but were afraid to ask)!

    Highlights:

You need something that's measurable. You need something that you can actually see your success in.
You can't accomplish your goals without action.
When you set goals you must write them down.
There's no secret to success. You simply need to know where you're headed, know what you want to accomplish along the way, make a plan for it, write down your plan and keep checking in on it.
When something shiny pops up in your business, look back at your goals and see if it fits in with the direction you want to take.
It's not just about the money.

Get yourself a plan, write it down and check-in. Give yourself some praise every time something great happens, because greatness happens all the time.

  • How to run a successful business that is people first, relationship focused AND lucrative with Vicki Gower
In this episode of The Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, we have a very cool guest, her name is Vicki Gower. We’ve known each other since high school. Vicki is always giving but she has also found a way to find a balance in there so that she's not completely draining herself. That’s why I thought it was so important for her to join me today. There was so much value in this conversation.

    The highlights:

I think part of my imbalanced balance was creating that group of women and group of people and friendships around me that supported me in my business, in the way that I saw my life moving forward.
The most important thing I've learned for business success is that the one thing you can count on is that everything will change. Nothing stays the same.
It's not going to be better when it's going to be better, because you decided you're going to make it better
There's so much power in choice and I am a firm believer in maintaining my power at all times.
The thing is that, as an overgiver, we want people around us to feel the benefits of their contributions.
A lot of times we see overgivers who literally give so much that they're giving away all their revenue and they're also giving away all their time so that they don't have time to build their business.
A lot of people aren't looking for something monetary or even that has a huge dollar value there, people really respond well to things that come from the heart.
As I get older, I recognize how my body responds to negative connotations, my body responds very differently.
I recognized that I deserved to have the people around me that believed in me, that supported me, that held me up without expectation in receiving something in return.
I always say that owning a business regardless of what kind of business it is, it is the most personal development you'll ever do.
I don't think without my experiences, without my challenges, that I would be who I am today, when I started my business, I was bitter, I was angry. I even had one of my consultants one time tell me that she didn't like me when she first started her business with me.
We're all a work in progress.

Vicki Gower has been a direct sales leader with Pure Romance since 2005, self-proclaimed overgiver who has found a balance that fills her heart and also serves her family and her business partners while running a Million Dollar + sales team. With 2 adult children and a crazy supportive husband, life has been filled with challenges and bends in the road that has brought them to a place of abundance simply because she detaches from the outcome and trusts the process.

  • How do you focus when you have too much?
In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I want to talk to you about focus. Sometimes it's hard to find focus when there's so much to do. I'm sure you've had these moments where all you could do is sit at your desk wishing you could focus if you could just get your brain to stop being crazy! If you're in that space, where you're overwhelmed, where there's too much to get done, it leads to procrastination. We have all been there, trust me, but how do you get out of that space? That’s exactly what I talked about in this episode.

    Highlights:

It isn't necessarily trying to fight through to be more focused. However, it's about finding a way to clear the clutter.
The dates don’t have to be in stone, but the dates are there so that the tasks don't get lost
I like to think about focus as if you're looking through a camera that has manual focus.
When you can fine-tune that focus and make it so that you can see every single branch, every single twig that comes off the branch, every single leaf. You can make that focus super clear and make it easy for you to move forward in your path because you can see what's happening in front of you.
At the end of the day, when you force yourself to focus, you're actually doing yourself more harm than good.
Sometimes you need to get up, walk around, go outside, read a book, colour, exercise, have a dance party, do something else. Give yourself a break.
Your to-do list should clear with each individual step there so that it can be easy for you to accomplish your tasks.
Clarity isn't the same for everybody.
What is important is that when you look at your to-do list, it inspires you to say “I know exactly what I need to do today”. And that alone is going to help you to contain and maintain the focus.

  • Want to know why You Aren’t Getting Things Done?
In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I talked about reasons why we, as business owners, often feel like we aren’t getting anything done. Have you ever felt that way? If you have, then you probably started feeling guilty because you were “procrastinating”. The problem is, you aren’t really procrastinating, in fact, you are overwhelmed. To end this guilty feeling you need to identify the things that are overwhelming you so you can end the problem at its source. That’s exactly what I’m talking about in this episode.

    Highlights:

You're not focused on your goals.
The things you're tackling are other people's problems, not the things that you want to get done for you, to get you to the goals that you want to achieve.
You don't understand what your time is worth.
You're overthinking everything, so you can't get things done.
Overthinking can be brought on because we're worried about being judged or being rejected, or even offending somebody.
You're too busy worrying about what other people have to say about you and your business, you're probably not taking care of yourself.
Distractions are annoying, but they are truly part of our world.
There are many ways to avoid or mitigate the distractions in your day.
We spend a lot of time on non-essential tasks
There's nothing worse than forced work.
    Being unorganized can be overwhelming.

Rather than “shoulding” all of yourself and adding to your stress, allow yourself to examine your situation, so you can make some changes. At the end of the day, when you are in control of your business and you aren't allowing other people to tell you what you should do, you're in control of your thoughts and your time. It’s okay to be in control of your thoughts and your time and your business. It's okay to tell people, NO. If you're having trouble getting things done and you're not sure why I encourage you to examine a few of these things.

  • Clear the blocks that are keeping you from achieving your business goals with Veronica Hollingsworth
In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I have a really special guest, her name is Veronica Hollingsworth. In this episode, we talked about her personal journey through business and some of the tools that she used to help her. From her story, you will get some awesome tips on how to clear blocks that are keeping you from achieving your business goals.

    Highlights:

Having a business of your own is not that different from being in an intimate relationship, because both will show you where you need to work on yourself.
When life happens and all of a sudden all your best-laid plans fall by the wayside, you have to have the skills to jump back on that horse and pick up where you left off
Your body's constantly talking to you on many levels.
The act of having my own business and having to face the responsibility that came along with that and my resistance to digest that part of life, and become 100% responsible for it, was manifesting in my physical symptoms.
It is your inner child that is playing out these subconscious patterns in your life that end up if unaddressed showing up in your body.
When, as a business owner, you have a client that was previously happy working with you, all of a sudden, they're not, and they ditch you. You feel that wound of rejection and abandonment. Then our mind kick in and says “Oh, well, they weren't that good” or “I was tired of their shenanigans”, but we sweep that initial kick of rejection and abandonment under the rug and if we don't deal with that at a deeper level, it's going to happen again, and again.
The media - how many of us have sat in front of the TV and absorbed cultural norms through what we saw?
I am one of the most stubborn people in the world. And my personal life had to get really bad. To the point of my children exhibiting crisis symptoms that was reflecting what I was going through for it to get my attention.
Your body knows the difference. The fear that leads you to the vision, and it's clear path to get you to, to where you want to go is different from the fear of “this does not feel aligned”.

  • How streamlining and automating will grow your business
Let’s talk about streamlining and automating your systems and your business. I know this isn’t most people’s favourite topic, however, it is very important that you look at your business and the processes you perform frequently so that you can save time, energy, headaches, and money! Making things a little easier and making your tasks less daunting will help you grow your business. It doesn't have to be hard.

    Highlights:

Building a business is work. Daily and consistent work. But it doesn't have to be hard.
One of the things that used to drive me crazy was I used to go back and forth with clients to book a simple call.
Automations aren't perfect but they are far more perfect than relying on humans to do those mundane tasks.
There's a lot of things you can do that are easy and low cost.
It's important for you to value not the price tag necessarily, but the time in which it's going to save you.
I want to give people a unique experience and I know you feel that way too. But that doesn't mean you have to recreate the wheel every single time.
How many hours have you wasted on “Where did I put that?”

Streamlining and automation seem like dry and boring things, but once you start working with them and see the results in your life, you start to see all of the amazing things you have left to do with the time you have leftover.

  • Does Your Business Planner Help You Create and Track Your Business Goals
In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I want to talk to you about your business planner! There is always a debate, physical planner or digital planner? Here's the deal, I can't live without either. In this episode, I will tell you why, and give some tips about how to use your business planner to create and track your business goals.

    Highlights:

When you write down your thoughts, your goals, your desires, your dreams, there's a higher chance that that's actually going to come to fruition.
It's really important to know what we're working towards. But also what small steps can we take today in order to take us to the next step.
    Pretty planners don't work.
Having a plan for the year is important, so we can break it down into quarters, months, weeks, and days.
Planning is just one piece, it's the actions you take that actually take you to your goal.
Your plan for your business isn't just some overreaching, “I wish I could...” thing you put together just because everybody else does. It's there so that you have something to measure every opportunity against.
We write our plans in pencil. So that we can use an eraser and make the adjustment as we pivot.
There's always value in writing it down. But there's also value in having it somewhere else. That's where digital comes in.
Google is the BOSS of the calendars
Remind yourself that the purpose of using the planner is so that you can achieve your goals so that your dreams can come true.

When we first pick up a new planner, it's awesome, shiny and amazing and we get super excited. We can't wait to use all our pens, colours, and stickers, but... the shiny wears off, doesn't it? Sometimes it's by January 10. And sometimes it's February, but the shiny wears off. I encourage you to push through it and make it a habit, planning, and tracking as it is so important to your business success.

If you purchase the Rockstar Planner you will get access to our amazing Planning Party where I teach you how to use the planner, walk through all the pages inside it and tell you how to integrate your physical and your digital tools! The party has already happened but you can get access to the replay. If you are new to planning or just want to enhance your planning system for your business this is super valuable!

  • Beth Griffith – Designing your business around your personality
In this episode of The Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I am excited to bring to you a new guest. Her name is Beth Griffith and today we are going to be talking about designing your business around your personality.

    Here are the highlights:

We can actually build brands around ourselves and our personalities.
A lot of people who talk about doing things that you love, very rarely do we talk about knowing your flaws.
How do I allow myself to have the belief that I have inherent value, without having to do all of the things that I'm not necessarily good at?
When you think about who you are as a person, and how you work, it's also important for you to think about the people you want to bring onto your team and what that looks like.
When you truly understand yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses, then you can create the community around you, you can create the people who are going to support you.
And when you truly understand yourself, your strengths, and your weaknesses, then you can create the community around you, you can create the people who are going to support you.

Beth Griffith is a coach, Brand Manager & Strategist for the modern entrepreneur. She has been a childbirth educator & doula, and owner of a brick & mortar co-working space called She Works Here. Due to health issues, she closed the office & revamped, relaunched, and reimagined her program The Magnetic Branding Method to be designed to help business owners like her to put themselves first and let go of the lie that they are selfish for building a brand with healthy boundaries. She does the work that she does because she believes that Selling Saves Lives because, in someone's darkest moment, a product or service can be the pattern interrupt that helps them to ground and center themselves to keep going.

She is a mom to two young kids, including a son on the autism spectrum, and lives with her husband in Mesa, Arizona with their puppy Fluttershy.

  • Everything you need to know about the 2021 Rockstar Business Planner
As an overgiver, it’s really important for us to be able to plan and organize our time and make sure that the time that we use for the things that we want to do takes precedence over letting others steal that time away from us. That’s why I created the Rockstar planner, I found that there were no planners on the market that really did what I needed them to do. This is when I began to take bits and pieces and put them together. Today, I want to share all the things you need to know about the Rockstar Business Planner.

You might buy physical planners because they’re cute, or they’re pretty or they look like maybe there’ll be fun. I’ve been there and what I have found is that pretty planners don’t work.
The Rockstar business planner is all about being accountable. It’s about putting your business and your life in order.
We have two sizes, the full size, which is 8.5” by 11”, which is the desktop size, and a half size planner, which is 5.5” by 8” which is called the digest size.
This year is the first year that we have had the option to have a dated or undated version.
Not only do we have pages that are already laid out for you, but we also have pages that are specifically meant to be used for bullet journaling.
And on top of that, at the very beginning of the Rockstar planner book, there is an index available for you to make sure that you know what you are tracking on each of the bullet journal pages inside your bullet journal.
You can plan your business, your life, and your family all in one place.
When you buy the planner, you get access to the Rockstar planner party!. If you buy the planner after the live party, that’s okay, because you’ll get access to the replay as well.

There is a LOT of value inside this planner so I wanted to lay it all out for you! At the end of the day, regardless of whether you use the Rockstar business planner, or you find another planner that works well for you, I encourage you to use it daily and make sure that you’re not one of those people that fall off the wagon at the end of January. When you track your goals you will actually have something to measure all those other “opportunities” against so you can create the business that you want, not the business that somebody else thinks you should have.
