Judith shares her belief that the Law of Attraction can bring positive or negative experiences into your life. Nicola takes the discussion on from there...
You can listen to Part 1 here >>
On the ShowJudith’s still in Trowbridge and this week she’s been challenged by the Aga. She’s had the car serviced in anticipation of more motorway driving during the autumn and winter, is planning to explore a nearby M&S food hall scouring for treats for a visiting client on Monday, and visiting chocolate-boxy Bradford on Avon which inspired a longish piece of writing on Facebook.
Nicola is looking forward to the Mani LitFest (though much resistant to the so-called word LitFest) today and the local Arts and Crafts Fair in Pefko’s Garden tomorrow. She and Sarah have enjoyed a nice quiet week and, despite thunderstorms, they’ve even made it to the beach – twice.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith’s attracted three new clients and noticed something strange but very interesting about visitor numbers to her Facebook Business Page.
Nicola’s been on a writing retreat in a beautiful garden in Kardamyli where she felt inspired to work on a short story about Greek vampires instead of her novel. Her view is that all writing is good for a writer and Judith agrees with her.
Focus of the WeekNicola and Judith always promised to revisit the topic of the Law of Attraction after part 1 in episode 172. Today Judith makes a presentation about what the Law of Attraction means to her, namely that it is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life and that this Law attracts thoughts, ideas, people, situations and circumstances.
Nicola takes the discussion on from there and shares three examples from her own current life where thoughts of the Law of Attraction are uppermost in her mind.
Words of the WeekNicola chooses Politics and Judith picks Prurient.
Project UpdatesJudith’s thinking is all about how to round up contributions to the 200th Own It! show next week, and Nicola updates with where she’s at in her two special projects with Jane and Pete, her novel and her regrets about giving up the podcast website and her own vzine. Judith believes both can be reinstated with ease if Nicola chooses.
Who or What’s Impressed?Judith was (unusually) impressed with something she saw on X Factor, the Diane Warren moment. And Nicola has fallen in love with the more serious side of the writing of Kate Atkinson.

A member of the Own It! Facebook Group has noticed similarities in ads on YouTube and wants to know; "Is the formula they all follow just a big scam?"
This week saw Nicola’s birthday and brother Alex had planned a road trip to celebrate which they had to reschedule due to a “medicane”, the Greek equivalent of a hurricane. One of the hotel rooms was a bit dodgy, but otherwise a lovely time was had by all. Alex has now moved on to other parts of Europe after helping Sarah and Nicola discover how to make salt cod not only palatable but plump and delicious.
Judith’s podcasting today from Trowbridge in Wiltshire on the first week of a fortnight’s housesitting gig. She’s getting on fine with the Aga and giving the cat her thyroid medicine hidden in cheese. She muses on a return trip to Bromley in Kent where she met a couple planning to winter in Argentina and who want her to look after their house while they are gone.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Nicola is happy to have rediscovered her joy of audio and podcasts, realising she likes to listen to talk radio and learn when at home.
Judith’s housesitting interviews have caused her to realise how she mishandles certain offers of kindness and how her #1 value of honesty could be adapted to suit the circumstances better in those situations. People love to give and share and the self-sufficient might take note of that and oblige them, at least in word.
Focus of the WeekA member of the Own It! Facebook Group offers this week’s focus:
I've begun to notice that the majority of ads that get presented to me on YouTube are people talking all about how crap their life was, how they woke up after watching an ad "just like this one" and now have a life of financial and time freedom and are so happy in x,y, and z with bells on, and if you sign up for the 7 part video series by "mentor", you too can feel as amazing as I do right now (or words like that...).
So, what I am wanting your opinion on please is what is behind this? Is it simply affiliate marketing where they get paid for each sign up or follow up sale? The one I've just watched is for Six Figure Mentors but I have come across other names. What I have also noticed is they all have the same format for the landing page with 3 testimonials saying how great the info is and how it has changed their life. Do they do this for each other? Or am I being a total sceptic who needs to get out more?
Words of the WeekNicola chooses Relax and Judith picks Trust.
Project UpdatesNicola reports in on three or four of her projects and Judith asks her to confirm how listeners may contribute to the 200th show being recorded on 18th October and airing on 26th October 2018.
And the answer is to please use the Speakpipe app on Nicola’s own website on the Contact page. It’s a yellow button marked Leave A Voicemail.
Who or What’s Impressed?Judith anonymously describes the significantly impressive actions and advances this week of her clients, and Nicola is impressed by how she and Sarah and Alex managed very well to live together for the duration of his visit. There were joys and challenges but they all navigated their way through them by talking, confronting issues, holding boundaries and being calm, firm and assertive.

Richard Pettitt wanted to be a scriptwriter until he was reminded how much he loves to make people laugh and the value and fun of surprising your clients.
Nicola’s been out and about with brother Alex, and musing on how clever she is having completed one of her current projects in just three weeks.
Judith returned from Luton via Trowbridge and met a surprising couple for whom she’s housesitting in October, one half of which has had over half a million hits to his guitar playing on YouTube.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith has been planning her future during a couple of sleepless nights and it was well worth it as her visions have gone from blurry to much clearer.
Nicola is discovering the joys of the Hemingway App and she and J debate where to put a full stop!
Focus Of The WeekRichard Pettitt originally wanted to be a scriptwriter until Morning Pages reminded him how much he loves to make people laugh with his jokes, videos and cartoons/webcomics Oojo and Bink, Drizzle Cake and Think vs Say. He talks to Judith and Nicola about taking yourself lightly and both vow to do more of that, and he reminds the listener about the value and fun of surprising your clients.

When is the right time / right circumstances to grow your business, if ever? Why would anyone do that? Which is better, working alone or with other people?
Nicola’s brother Alex has arrived from Sydney on a one-way ticket, thankfully he also has Berlin, Paris and the UK on his list of places to visit. Nicola has been busy editing this week. Some cricket videos firstly to help local friend Arthur Burgess who raises money for Mani firefighters by staging a cricket match on the beach. And Write Club podcasts have been recorded and edited all the way up to the end of October.
Judith is housesitting in Luton today and has been offered a six-month opportunity in suburban South London from November to April. She’s thinking of getting a mobile kit together of what she considers life’s essentials so she always has everything she needs whether or not she can find it in someone else’s house.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith has been reflecting on how some clients become forever friends, and also she is amazed to discover that she is working with one person who neither has a business or wants to go low carb. She is helping her to find a new job.
Nicola is happy to have received two new client enquiries this week, again from people she has known for a very long time. One would be on a retainer basis and the other a possible JV. The length of time these opportunities have taken to arrive at Nicola’s door prompts a discussion about magic wands and whether or not money happens overnight... No, generally it doesn’t!
Focus of the WeekThese new leads put Nicola in mind of growing her team again. Her sister, Sarah, expressed surprise. This gave Judith and Nicola their topic of the week – when is the right time/right circumstances to grow your business, if ever? Why would anyone do that? Which is better, working alone or with other people?
Words of the WeekNicola chooses Guts and Judith picks Friendship.
Project UpdatesJudith’s clients have called on her this week for emotional support. She loves that best of all. Nicola’s been working on her book, is still thinking about the future of her vzine, and meanwhile continues to make good progress with Jane and Peter’s projects.
Who or What’s Impressed?Nicola talks about former England cricketer Alex Tudor and Judith introduces the listener to Jana Bakunina who funds female founders and had an article published this week in the Financial Times.

Nicola’s enjoying a brief moment between one lot of friends going and another house guest arriving, this time it is her brother from Australia. And who is the handsome young man on a motorbike who is trying to find her?
Judith’s getting organised for the first in a series of house-sits beginning tomorrow. Haircut, tick.
Pedicure, tick.
Full tank of gas, tick.
Judith was inspired and uplifted by the response to the return of the podcast last week. Nicola’s reviewing whether or not to get back into creating her weekly vzine. If not, how will she invite people into her marketing funnel?
Focus of the WeekWith so many creative people struggling and failing to manage their own mental wellbeing, ourselves included at times, how can we as entrepreneurs look after ourselves to avoid burnout, dark thoughts and worse?
Words of the WeekNicola chooses Re-Charge and Judith picks Treasure.
Project UpdatesNicola’s two big Done4You projects are ticking along nicely and her partner/clients are producing good video content for her to use. Own It! The Podcast download stats are back on track.
Judith has picked up the extra clients she wanted in her September Low Carb group but has struggled at times this week with how best to help some of her low carbers.
Who or What’s Impressed?Nicola has discovered Thrive Themes and is making nice websites for her clients and using Thrive Leads, Thrive Timers and Thrive Quiz. It costs $268 a year which is cheaper than her previous solution too.

Should Judith segment her newsletter to cover the two distinct areas of interest – low carb and business coaching? Nicola shares her thoughts on the matter!
Nicola has some lovely friends staying this week and has decided to go into a joint venture business with the Dad of the family, Peter, which will involve a trip in Spring 2019 to Las Vegas.
Judith wasn’t in the mood at all to go back to work on Monday so busied herself instead with some frenzied “spring” cleaning, very much NOT her comfort zone.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith’s got a new notebook for the new term and a new Club 100 client plus she woke from a dream feeling the nudge to start using EFT/tapping with her low carb clients to help them beat the sugar cravings.
Nicola’s new major client, SecretArtOfHuna.com, filled her first two workshops which she put down to “low-hanging fruit”. They are working on their third.
Focus of the WeekJudith received some useful feedback from a newsletter reader that she should ask Nicola for some advice about segmenting her newsletter to cover the two distinct areas of interest – low carb and business coaching.
Judith asks Nicola what she would have done with this unsolicited advice and explains her own viewpoint too. They agree and Judith was pleased that another serious marketer does too.
Words of the WeekNicola chooses Sociable and Judith picks Summer.
Project UpdatesNicola is happy to report that Write Club the Podcast doubled their download numbers during the time they were offline during August.
Sadly, the same cannot be said for Own It! Our listeners prefer it when we are live each Friday and broadcasting a new show every week.
Judith is comparing SendPilot to Missing Lettr, Zoom to Webex and she also talks about some thoughts she’s having and changes she’s experimenting with when it comes to organic Facebook marketing.
Who or What’s Impressed?Judith is delighted that despite her Facebook misgivings it has brought forth some interesting opportunities for housesitting over the next couple of months. And Nicola is trialling use of Monday.com which is a project management/productivity tool, a bit like Trello which she didn’t get on with as well as she hoped.

Alice Sheridan is a London artist who now mentors other artists. In this podcast, she asks you to think about the distinction between criticism and critique
Nicola has been enjoying August on the beach, walking, diving, snorkelling, getting healthy and brown. She’s joined in with a series of writing sprints where you write 2500 words in a fast session. And she’s discovered YouWriteOn.com where you can drop in your writing and receive and give feedback to and from other writers.
Judith’s been housesitting for her brother in Surrey and totally overdoing it, she spent the rest of the month resting and healing and getting over the exertion of seeing friends in London in an intense week. She’s enjoyed three woo-woo consultations with a medium, a psychic and a homeopath and as the month progressed she eased into doing little and less.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith’s excited that the average donation for her Pay What You Want (PWYW) calls during August was £80, up from £60 at last reckoning. Nicola’s able to reveal that her current Done For You client is SecretArtOfHuna.com
Focus of the WeekAlice Sheridan is a London-based landscape artist who now also mentors other artists. She taught Nicola and Judith that people will judge art in 2.7 seconds – wow!
She asks the listener to think about the distinction between criticism and critique and to remember that we are often too close to our own creative work to see it ourselves and that when asking for feedback it is advisable to frame the question very carefully, not just to ask people what they think, ‘cos then they tell you!
Any tiny hint can be helpful even if all it does is help you work out what you think/feel as the artist.
Nicola goes for Wood (seasoned) and Judith picks Autodidact.
Project UpdatesNicola’s new big client has caused her to decide to move to ThriveCart, and Judith’s September Low Carb group is off to a flying start.
Who or What’s Impressed?Sam Blake’s books about Cathy Connolly, starting with Little Bones. And Robert Redford who is retiring from acting (but not directing) aged 80.

Margaret Collins has published Beyond Imposter Syndrome and she talks to us about what it is and where it comes from, how it feels and what to do about it.
Nicola has been zapping tolerations including her first visit to a Greek dentist. Today’s the day she will hear whether or not she’s been accepted onto the writing course, she’s unattached to the outcome but she says she is on a purple streak right now when it comes to manifesting, so fingers crossed.
Judith’s been out to dinner to a posh restaurant with her cousins, had a very exciting Monday
including 15 frantic minutes during the morning and she’s resolved a peculiar PayPal glitch with Eric her computer man who was, at the time, in Rwanda!
Judith’s Low-Carb group now has 15 paying members and got off to a cracking start with the first of 13 weekly Zoom calls last week. Discoveries are being made, ankles and feet are no longer swollen even in these temperatures. The first few weeks are the hardest for some, easier than anticipated for others. We are all unique.
Nicola spent a day in air con with fellow writer Linda and they studied some plotting masterclasses together while eating grapes and sipping sparkling water.
Focus of the WeekMargaret Collins is an academic and a lecturer who describes herself as a working-class girl made good. She made some life changes when in her forties she realised she was about to become a full-time carer for her disabled sister and a job wasn't going to fit into that as well or be as flexible as self-employment.
Margaret has recently published Beyond Imposter Syndrome and she talks to us about what it is and where it comes from, how it feels and what to do about it. It is universal, there's
nothing wrong with us, 72% of the world's population experience it and she has strategies for life beyond IS.
Nicola goes for Humid and Judith picks Induction.
Project UpdatesFollowing Traction principles, Nicola’s had her first monthly board meeting with her new marketing client/partner in which they discussed her three-year vision, the timeline and her values. Nicola recommends the book Traction: Get A Grip On Your Business by Gino Wickman.
One of the excitements on Monday morning was Judith receiving a call from her heroine about the 3-year house sit. She’s going to London on Tuesday for a meeting to scope out the project and her suitability for it.
Who or What’s Impressed?Judith loved Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again the movie and Nicola is impressed by those involved in rescuing 750 people in the Greek fires, by boat and airlift.

"I'm a techy VA & hear people, including Nicola, talking about outsourcing to people overseas for $10 per/hour. How do I get across the value and compete?”
Nicola’s 21 Day Challenge is all but over and 3 out of 10 active participants have joined her Clicks And Leads Academy. She has a houseguest, a dog called Wilfred Owen!
In the end, after some frustration, Judith enjoyed Monday without access to internet either at home or via her mobile mini sim so apparently across all networks; sometimes you are obliged to take an unscheduled day off.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith July 2018 Low-Carb Pilot is nearly a week old now and she’s done ten inductions in the last week, cajoling people into giving up their foodie addictions. Nicola’s very moved to have been hired by a long-term client as her marketing partner, something she considers to be perfect in many ways.
Focus of the Week“I am a very techy VA and I keep hearing everyone (including Nicola on the podcast) talking about outsourcing to people overseas for $10 an hour. I am based in the UK and charge more than that per hour but I’m much more efficient and so much faster, as I know the various software inside out, I know about internet marketing, websites, direct response copywriting, funnel strategy, so I bring much more to the table in terms of what I can do, not to mention troubleshooting, using my initiative and my ability to see future implications of client actions etc. How do I get across the value and compete in this environment?”
Words of the WeekNicola goes for Patience and Judith picks Choice.
Project UpdatesJudith updates the listener on her de-niching, and Nicola confirms that podcast download numbers on the day each new show goes out are up from 150 to over 200.
Who or What’s Impressed?Judith discovers Gertrude Bell via a film on Netflix called Queen of the Desert. Nicola’s got three – Penny Power and her new book, a revisit to a book called Profit First (while doing her own accounts) and today’s message from the Universe at TUT.com which spoke to both Judith and Nicola equally powerfully.

Chloe Constantine is in business with her twin sister Pippa operating Feet First baby feet castings. Fortunately, as she explains, they are NOT identical...
In the ShowThe UK heatwave continues, the football match was a tad disappointing but not the England team, Wimbledon tennis more than made up for it; Nicola’s all alone as first her children and then Sarah have returned to the UK.
What’s Fuelled Their Fire?Judith is contemplating de-niching or at least switching the central focus of her coaching business somewhat to the power of a conversation on any topic. Nicola is taking a couple of months off from creating her Vzine over the summer and instead she is looking at becoming the Marketing Department for one or two special clients.
Focus of the WeekChloe and twin sister Pippa run real-world business Feet First in London and Surrey. They make castings of babies’ and children’s feet. Both mothers themselves, they help parents to make that lovely decision to mark an important time in their lives.
Their family biz is 12 years old and Chloe shares stories of how the entire family is involved
including what their husbands do in the business after they get home from their day jobs and how the sisters chose and carved out their roles and responsibilities. It all came down to the three Ps - passion, perseverance and partnership.

Project UpdatesNicola has lots of plans for the summer. To continue with her Alexa daily briefings and to learn YouTube advertising. Be Everywhere Online continues to spin off lots of great content and she’s created her first
vertical video for IGTV.
Judith’s launched her Low-Carb pilot project, 90 days for £90 plus a testimonial, July-October 2018 and enjoyed a gratifying take-up. She’s had lots of conversations about addiction to crisps!
Who or What’s Impressed? All those involved in rescuing the boys from the cave in Thailand. And all those highly engaged in Nicola’s 21 Day Challenge.
